99GBP @ Andertons but sells for 99USD in USA & Canada (reg. price). $200 USD for the Mustang 2. So why do you English blokes pay 50% more for the Mustang 1?...
Did anyone actually make some good 80's metal presets on this amp? RodChappers only plays modern metal tones in it, and in other videos the same, just modern metal and vintage clean or roackabilly style tones...
I have some presets trying to be 80's metal tone but I'm not satisfied with them.
can you please chapper please tell me if the mustang 3 can have a metal tone. can you please show a line 6 spider iv 75 and peavey vypyr vid that shows their best metal tone such as gus g
The Mustang 3 is exacly the same as the 1 and 2, as far as presets/effects/controls/saving and all that fun stuff goes. The only big difference is the LED Screen, and a little better editing. What you see hear in presets is also on the 3.
@planBskater980 i'm getting this for christmas, but i tried both out in guitar center, along with a marshall mg and a vox modeling amp. this has the most different options and presets, and also comes with software so you can create virtually any tone you can think of and also download setups made by other users. i'm into rock too btw
@planBskater980 oh but yeah forgot, this has no mid control on it, which i found odd, but sstill found a good tone. you may be able to adjust it in the FUSE software it comes with, but idk
@planBskater980 I was just at my guitar shop and I had the same decision, I asked the guys that work there and they suggested the mustang 1 over the line 6
@dekzan I agree, it's stupid, I love my mids! Theoretically though you can adjust them in the FUSE software, assuming you can load those tones ont othe amp, if not I guess I'm down looking at this amp...
@CrossHolder92 ROFL! What are the mids like then? 12 o clock? Actually, the mids do matter, on electric not as much, but there's still tones coming out of them. I keep my mids at 6 'cause no mids is crap. I tried the Mustang I in Guitar Center and couldn't get the tone I wanted because it had no mids. So, yes, while the highs and lows are both more important, the mids are still just as important, maybe not to you, but to others they definitely are.
@Songwriter4God Course it matters, but the Mustang IV has mid control. Try the Vox vt20+, it's a 30 watt hybrid apm with a tube (valve) as a preamp, 33 amp models (11 actually, but three kinds of each one), a bunch of effects, HAS A MID control and it costs about the same.
@CrossHolder92 The thing that attracted me to the Mustang though is the connectivity to the computer. I think I might as well just go with a Vypyr. Plus it looks like you can find 75 watt Vypyrs used for 20 bucks cheaper than the 30 watt. I'll look into the Vox though...
@Songwriter4God The vypyrs all the behind both of the amps, but if you only want to practice, it isn't that important. If the price difference is not too high, I'd go for the Vox or Mustang, assuming that you are buying the practice ones. But if you're thinking something more, I'd suggest the mustang III (I'm getting the IV) over the vox vt80+. First I wanted a vox, but when I saw F.U.S.E., changed my mind. Vox and Vypyrd don't have that kind of support, mustang has the most features.
@CrossHolder92 Yeah, I agree, the Mustangh as the most features, but I really want a good amp that will last me awhile even when I'm in a band, so I'm thinking a Peavey Vypyr 75 watt, maybe Line 6, I currently have a Spider III 15 and it sounds great, so I'm not sure exactly. I know I want a modelling amp 'cause they're the best bang for your buck, you don't need more than one amp for great clean and distorted tones. If I could find a used Mustang III or IV I'd get that though.
I think this amp was the best of this sort out there for a while, but now I'd really be interested in a head-to-head comparison with the Yamaha THR10.
chaap! i've heard that a jonstone les paul copy is cheaper and better than an epiphone les paul ? some people have also said that it is as good or better than a gibson, i dont think you would have heard of it or used it but if you could possibly do a review i would apreicate and if If experienced players say it compares to a gibson, it must be jesus :)
Guys don't buy this piece of shit amp, the chassis is a piece of shit, really cheap ass wood, and the cover that's supposed to be leather or something like that is a piece of shit too, the back that covers it is realle cheap crappy wood too, it fucking sucks, ad the sounds are just horrible, I regret wasting 100bucks on this piece of shit, for 49.99 bucks more I could of got a durable marshall.
@tingly7654321 Yeah, you stupid overweighted black ass, fuck you my parent's don't buy me a shit, I work alrready how old do you think I am? I needed this piece of shit to take on the go, I can't move my stacks anywhere.
@tingly7654321 The what is it? Plastic? Do you even own this piece of shit? When I changed the shitty speaker that this has to a Celestion, I had to almost tear the amp appart, it is really shitty built, it's some kind of processed wood, not like any other normal amp. You know what, fuck you stupid black troll.
@Macsk8ing look kid im not the one who bought the amp for you go complain to your parents buddy and while your at it take calm the fuck down son you need to quit throwing a fit kid.
I can't get my amp to sound right plzz help. Anyone know how to set it up to make it sound like the guitar in supermassive black hile by muse. I can't get it to sound right it just sounds either the same as normal or deeper! >:Y
@UKToneKing Yes he does, it sound almost good, but you have to have in mind hes using two mics to review it, not the amp actual speak sound, it really sound like shit.
@247lethal try adjusting the treble knob to 8 and bass knob to half way about 5, then put some reverb in it lol. Should give it a nice metallica feel. Hope I helped.. :)
@dima152 That guitar is a chapman guitars ghostfret, which you can find by typing chapman guitars into google, then click on the site, click the guitars icon and look for ghostfret. :)
@Djsukyy a marshall tuber or such that has a warm tone when the volumes cranked, then find a good header for the cabinet and get yourself pedals to fill in the gaps
@Lanakikuta I don't know what your budget is like, but the mustang 1 is only $100 from Musician's Friend. That's only $25 more than the 15R was in the google search I did.
would you prefer one of the mustang amps over a vox vt+ amp. i attempt to play mainly rock/metal (metallica/rush/marillion). was thinking of a vt 40+ amp,but would i be better off going for a mustang instead?thanks :-)
Just one thing. The amp has an usb connection to the computer..so...why use a external microphone to make a video that goes to the computer...can't understand.
@molomono Exactly. By failing to demonstrate the sounds available through the USB output, that's exactly what they've done. They only demoed half the product. I've been looking all over for audio samples recorded from the USB out, and can't find any.
@CaptainCocaine The USB output is most likely just line-in but the signal stays digital all the way.
Considering it's a modeling amp it can model amps through USB or audio output, so to measure the speaker clarity is much more of importance in my opinion, if the speaker sounds good then there is no way in hell either USB or audio out would sound bad.
@CaptainCocaine Half the product? the tone says the same recorded as you hear it...there may be a slight difference but certainly not half the product..
@darkeagle551 How is the tone coming directly from a USB cable going to sound exactly the same as the tone recorded through a microphone? It wouldn't even be the same if he had used a different microphone. Speakers and microphones make up a LOT of the tone in a recorded amp. Taking those two items out of the loop should make a VERY large impact, unless the speaker and mic modeling on this amp is exceptional, and that's what I'm trying to find out.
In your amp shootout you said"if your into blues the fender i would give it an 8 or 9".."FOR metal!..id give its a 6"..So whats what?...this obviously sounds great played metal...
hey, i have a problem. i just dont get a real metalsound with my fender mustang 1, and if i turn it loud there is a constant annoying tone growing proportionally to the volume louder.
can anybody tell me how i get some metalsound like dethklok for example has it?
@Dervanon I would image the 2000 patch with some editing of the mid-range is key to the sort of sound you are after, bass up also for that chunk and back the treble off or it will be a bit scratchy/annoying and will also tame the noise a little bit, I would also recommend a noise gate of which i myself find the humble Boss NS-2 to be champion and also one of the cheapest solutions. Hope that helps and all the best
@Dervanon well then, beyond new batteries or buying expensive pedals I'm out of ideas. Those pu's shouldn't make noise though, nor should the amplifier... could be somethin' wrong with it. Try the guitar and cable on another amp, or a friend's guitar on your amp.
I have the mustang II, it's f*****in incredible, I used it to record the lead tones on my band's EP & it just sounds amazing no matter what lick you throw at it, and it models some incredible tones! One question though: why does it have no MID control?! all in all 10/10 amp! plenty loud too very giggable
Is the guy playing that gruesome guitar bald, or was he just in a hurry to make this pathetically trite video, and decided to wrap the mop cloth he just finished wiping the floors with around his head?
Is that dead walrus a fashion statement or a ruse to hide his bald head?
Can't take a douche with a used kitchen towel strapped around his head seriously, sorry.
As to the douches in the car, now you know why the Germans wipe the floor with you assholes whenever they go on a world tour.
@Targaxel Yeah... that explains why Kreator is the sloppiest band I've ever heard live, and why the German's lost every war they've been in against the English speaking countries. Because they're better than us.
Great amp!!!Something I need to ask before buing it...can the tap button be used as the delay and tremolo tempo???I mean by pressing it faster o slower does the effect change???
@PsychoSymantic ok thanks. I asked because i were going to buy the vypyr on this week. Now it's too late i have ordered the vypyr.... But why do you prefer the fender? I don't think the vypyr is a bad amp...
@CheckThisSaw The Vypyr is by no means a bad amp, however the Fender has more options. such as USB connectivity, true effect customization and upgradeable firmware. All of these options are only available on the Vypyr 75 and higher.
The editing software comes with it and/or free to download. You can do everything with it what had ever been done to a guitar sound, all sorts of effects And shit
seems like a cool amp. i'm looking for a new practice amp that could survive small gigs, even if it was just mic'ed up and this seems like the best one at the moment. I'm not really familiar with modelling amps, so can you actually turn off or not use the amp presets and just use the amp itself?
@lkkjhg45 bitch, you don't even know why im asking for the presets, (a "friend of mine" wants me to make a cover for it) you can call the song gay but im not, maybe your gay..... have you told your mom yet? (i saw you getting fucked by homeless people)
i have a doubt, i would like to play metal and im not sure which amp buy (Mustang I or Mustang II) cause some people say its better play metal or trash with a 12" amp
how do active pickups sound through it? There is a vid on the Tube with a guy running pedals through it and it sounds killer, so if it can take pedals surely actives will sound ok.

After I saw this I'm considering selling my Vox VT 50 and buy one of these Fender Amps. At least I'm gonna find a store where I can compare.

Just bought one. Now I gotta learn to play.
HairyMark13 1 year ago
hey, i have a problem. i just dont get a real metalsound with my fender mustang 1, and if i turn it loud there is a constant annoying tone growing proportionally to the volume louder.
can anybody tell me how i get some metalsound like dethklok for example has it?
Dervanon 1 year ago
@Dervanon I would image the 2000 patch with some editing of the mid-range is key to the sort of sound you are after, bass up also for that chunk and back the treble off or it will be a bit scratchy/annoying and will also tame the noise a little bit, I would also recommend a noise gate of which i myself find the humble Boss NS-2 to be champion and also one of the cheapest solutions. Hope that helps and all the best
nekromachine 1 year ago
@Dervanon Better guitar cable and I dunno what kind of guitar you're playing but may want to look into a higher output humbucker.
dependantlividity 1 year ago
@dependantlividity i have a pretty good cable and im playing a cort evl z6.
sure i can use the effects like echo, but its everytime the sound of the guitar just louder, no real metal sound. :(
Dervanon 1 year ago
@Dervanon well then, beyond new batteries or buying expensive pedals I'm out of ideas. Those pu's shouldn't make noise though, nor should the amplifier... could be somethin' wrong with it. Try the guitar and cable on another amp, or a friend's guitar on your amp.
dependantlividity 1 year ago
Hey Chappers, I know you just about squirted over the Line 6 Spider IV, so now that you've played the Mustang, how do you think it compares?

Sounds quite artificial, brizzles, alaising, muffled.
Anyway, as a training amp, for joy & fun (see the guys laughing, eh?) it may be ok ;)

Zorlak108 1 year ago

Targaxel 1 year ago
@Targaxel Yeah... that explains why Kreator is the sloppiest band I've ever heard live, and why the German's lost every war they've been in against the English speaking countries. Because they're better than us.

Great amp!!!Something I need to ask before buing it...can the tap button be used as the delay and tremolo tempo???I mean by pressing it faster o slower does the effect change???
akiskotsaftis 1 year ago
is that better than the vypyr 15?
CheckThisSaw 1 year ago
@CheckThisSaw I have the Vypyr and I wish I had this amp. That should tell you something.
PsychoSymantic 1 year ago
@PsychoSymantic ok thanks. I asked because i were going to buy the vypyr on this week. Now it's too late i have ordered the vypyr.... But why do you prefer the fender? I don't think the vypyr is a bad amp...
CheckThisSaw 1 year ago
@CheckThisSaw The Vypyr is by no means a bad amp, however the Fender has more options. such as USB connectivity, true effect customization and upgradeable firmware. All of these options are only available on the Vypyr 75 and higher.
PsychoSymantic 1 year ago
To guys in video. What have you been smoking or otherwise consuming and may I have some. Great sounding amp and demo ! Thanx
aholfditler 1 year ago
The editing software comes with it and/or free to download. You can do everything with it what had ever been done to a guitar sound, all sorts of effects And shit
letterbekmen 1 year ago
what amp settings are you using :O.... i dont know so much about how to put the knobs and the presets
sonnic1995 1 year ago
does the editing software come with the amp? if not how much is it?

@brsurferbrasil it comes with a cd, with amplitube, fender fuse and ableton live lite 8... i buy it 3 days ago Lol

I have this amp and this amp is amazing. Defiantly worth the money.
ZerkylHD 1 year ago
seems like a cool amp. i'm looking for a new practice amp that could survive small gigs, even if it was just mic'ed up and this seems like the best one at the moment. I'm not really familiar with modelling amps, so can you actually turn off or not use the amp presets and just use the amp itself?
danlegend121 1 year ago
that guy plays epicly, that guitar is epic and that amp sounds epic ;D
wOOdY94100 1 year ago
@vaderade
I played 3 gigs with the small one, and its loud enough to deal with about 60-70 people.
Sound gets a little muddy but it is okay.

how do active pickups sound through it? There is a vid on the Tube with a guy running pedals through it and it sounds killer, so if it can take pedals surely actives will sound ok.
