This was classic children's tv. I watched this show every afternoon. Before that...it was Supercar. The Andersons may have been the brain but Barry Gray's music gave it heart.
I have sang this song all my life..These characters were my first introduction in to my own imagination..I Am a True t bird ..I have been Marina.
all my life. and I still Love the captian even now..I believe thats why I like handsome men With similar features as the Actor the puppet was designed from Thanks for listening eyeze
I used to cry like a baby at the closing song when I was a kid. My family used to love waiting for the moment I would break down and it would always happen. No wonder I'm f***** up now.
Very nice quality video. Stingray's "red" titles, plus Aqua Marina. The opening titles went through many subtle variations, and this was the 1964 red version: a second season episode, with the opening titles in full colour. Not completely authentic, as indicated by the MCMLXIV (1964) title credit, instead of the original MCMLXII (1962).
The closing credits was proof positive of the "love triangle" between Troy, Marina & Atlanta. But I think this was done to attract more mature viewers! ;)
When I was 5, Stingray was the dogs nadgers....that intro really got you going...still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! Thats what Nostalgia is all about!
The way the underwater scenes were filmed was absolutely brilliant! (A thin fish tank containing various tropical fish was positioned between the camera and the set to create the illusion of being underwater, an air line inside the tank and special lighting techniques from above also enhanced this illusion!)
As a small child in the 60's I didn't have control of the TV so most of the time I only saw the open of these shows before the adults would turn to sports or news. I played sick one time to stay home and see astroboy because it was only on at 12:30 pm weekdays but my plan was ruined by soap operas my grandma watched. Thanks to DVDs and YouTube I can be a kid again. I did see Stingray in the early 70's afterschool on a grainy UHF station from out of town ... better than nothing at the time lol

I wonder if they'll ever bring this back and give it the 21st century treatment. But, have Gerry Anderson- just like he did with Captain Scarlet.

私の記憶では、「♪スティングレー~、スティングレー~、海底大戦争~!」という主題歌があったように思うのだが...。

That closing theme was killer. The whole show was worth putting up with the 60's
