The black girl impression was a little too high pitched. Go for a lower pitch and a go little faster. Also, try it with somewhat of a pucker rather than smile. It helps with the sound and visual attitude. With practice, you too can join the ranks of the attitude-enlightened elite.

E.T. isn't that bad once you know how to handle the pits.

Just make sure you don't keep the joystick pressed up when you're leaving a pit and always leave it from the lowest part.

Also, you can immediately press the fire button (and nothing else!) while falling into a pit.

This helps you getting out much faster.

And know that you can outrun your enemies while keeping the fire button pressed.

Not bad for a game that was programmed in five weeks.

It even contains 3 easter eggs.

This game was one of the causes of the video game crash of 83/84. It made atari go to bankrupcy and there where dumpsters full of cartridges of this game in their boxes sealed without open. It was a complete fiasco!. The game sucked yesterday, it sucks today and will probably suck tomorrow. If you think the game is good, well, think again.

When you collect all the pieces of the phone and call the ship to pick you up. There is a time on the upside of the screen and you've to go to the place where the ship is coming, When the countdown ends the ship come and takes you away and you get extra point for every smartie you have given to elliot. And the ending sucks also.

I own E.T. and it's really not that bad in comparison to the worst games ever. I mean, atari games can only get so good to begin with outside of pure arcade style games. It's pointless, but not the worst. Look at Big Rigs, they actually had the potential to do a whole lot with it and it turned out to be miserable crap through and through! I dunno what I'd say the worst ever is, but Big Rigs is far higher then E.T.

Not a chance. The game was still boring, I only had the motivation to collect about half of them before I got tired of the one true problem: coming out of pits. I always fell back in repeatedly and it pissed me off.

Atari does have some cool space invaders like games and really old school arcade classics but you have to admit, it's not really worth downloading an atari emulator...I mean the game Adventure is regarded as one of the best atari games and ur basically a moving square in a really basic maze.
