I think skate 2 is awesome, but the career mode was just too easy, and short without a structure. I felt the character never progressed beyond getting out of prison. I thought skate 1 career mode was much better but everything else in skate 2 rocked!

I think Skate 2 was more difficult than Skate. I had to do some missions about 10 times before I nailed it. I'm not saying that's a bad thing though. You're right about Skate 2 being awesome and they actually managed to get it even better than the original Skate. I wonder what the next step will be? :S

Really a matter of preference. I play both, but I only play Skate 1 for the old maps. Do not get me wrong though, Skate 2 maps are great. But I fell in love with the Reg's skate park in the first one. I play Skate 2 everyday and Skate 1 every 2 weeks or so.

no the challenges and career is unrealistic, but the engine and gameplay and physics makes it possible for people to be able to skate realistically to an extent. for example when u go into crooked grinds, u can accidentally go into noseslide similar to real skateboarding.
