can i render mpeg 2 files in sd format for dvd with any of cuda enabled card???? please tell me. or i have to purchase specific pc and card for that. thanks.
I'd also like to be able to encode at the same speed but using higher quality.. Badaboom is faster but the quality is not enough for a pro. Sure a fast GPU is definitely a benefit, but I don't want to have to buy a Quadro to get pro quality. I'd rather just stick to the slower CPU because quality is key in the end, not speed (for me at least)..

Well, if you get a quadro, then you can produce quality work "FASTER" and to a more refined, complex, and impressive level. Even in 3D, im having problems doing complex work because my graphics card is a GeForce. Its shit!!! Quadro is the way or ATI.
nvidia has just found a very gr8 technology...the video encoding job is must be given to the gpu bcz it is mainly made for this kinda stuff...this technology will tremendously helps in saving the cpu power
well gpu is mainly made for processing hd videos, games n everything. This technology is just gives the encoding job to the gpu instead of cpu which makes encoding more faster..you should compare ATI with nvidia not the intel...lol

you can use BADABOOM which is made by Elemental Technologies, it's the consumer quality version of the elemental accelerator, but does not integrate with the CS4 suite. Badaboom is a standalone program

GeForce is the GPU's for gaming
Quadro FX are for animation, making movies and stuff.
Quadro and GeForce is from Nvidia, and Nvidia is an american company that makes this stuff for everyone.
