  • So great, so spooky...this is an awesome album...

  • keppa - cos you aint as old asu!!

  • this song gave me chills because how awesome it is

  • omfg why couldnt i have found this band before!??

  • Great cadenc. I don't have this (original) version of the track. I have the Live dvd and return to the sabbat version.

  • Very dark and psychedelic. I like.

  • KOOLTUNE, I MISS THE DAYS OF OLD, THANKS, AND IM STILL A FLOYD FAN.

  • Can A Power mertal band play black widows material?

  • Fuck yeah B)

  • Early Doom Metal?

  • Listen to me, please ! OUR "ancient days" WERE BETTER !

The Music from the '60/70 was fantastic, really.

  • @4pendragon Yes it was fantastic, but there is so much brilliant music today that very few people discover, because it is "underground" and the music market is so vast no one can have time to fathom 0,001% of it. In 30 years many records of today that sold poorly will have elevated their status to timeless classic. Also many of the hit records of the 60s/70s were terrible (but maybe not as terrible as today's post-MTV hits).

  • @cometothesabbat GET OUT OF HERE! today they just steal this gen of music from the 60,s and 70,s and still cannot get it right!Their is way to much tech today in music. It makes it easier for musicians to get the sound they want, without having to be creative,or even learn how to play it.These guys in the 60, and 70,s where original.Bullshit these artist today are ''underground''their is so much more opportunity with the internet to get your stuff heard. They just suck!Bands in the past rule!

  • @671kmn You haven't heard the right bands, or maybe you are just being rigid in your definition of what music can or cannot be.

  • great song

  • Better than PInk Floyd? Pantera fans have to get the fuck out of real music videos.

  • Black Metal!

  • HAIL SATAN!!!!!!!!!

  • @dickhalloran the occult isn't all about Satan. Both Heathenism& PAganism are included in the occult

  • @Freyja1133 You know... for some people even christianity/islam/judaism are considered occult.

  • Why are they disbanded? I love this magic album, too underrated, WTF!!!!

  • Don't forget about Coven!

  • hairs on end ! seems so long agoooooooo

  • The fathers of Black Metal.....

  • What an underrated band =(=(

  • Love this song.

  • some of the best lyrics i've ever heard from any rock band. as someone else said, this album does have a "magical" atmosphere to it!

  • i can dig it

  • Oh yes!

  • Pink Floyd = Psychedelic Rock

    Black Widow = Progressive Rock

  • And both are pure gold :D

  • There is comparison to Pink Floyd, two totally different beasts, regardless of genre.

  • They're different things...

  • Wow great never heard this band till now but very much into the Prog-rock bands from England.

  • propagandhi covers it also.

  • No that was "Come to the sabbat"

  • Great 420 song!!!

  • sublime !!!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!

  • :-)

  • I cant believe I have found this song after nearly 30 years !! Love the last track on the album " Sacrifice " great Hammond organ !!

  • This is killer!

how come I never hear bands as creative as this today?

I mean, I know a few, but they took effort to find.

I've been deprived for too long :P.

  • love this song! its magical

  • Check,, Archon Satani-Ritual Murder..

  • I used this song in Episode 7 of my show Polyester Dreams... Check it out on my channel!

  • Can`t believe I`m listening to this, back in 1970 as a 15 year old, Sacrifice was the first rock album I ever bought.I haven`t heard this for over 30years,its all coming back now

  • Same year, same age, same first album! Beats Boyzone, doesn't it....

  • Some would disagree im sure Boyzone version of Come to the sabbat never really caught on

  • Best Black Widow song ever. One of the best rock songs ever. Especially the live version from "Demons of the Night..."

  • davvero fantastico!! ho trovato questo disco ad un mercatino!!

  • i conjure thee a beer?

  • right? thank you, i thought i was the only one, hehe.

  • @AlistairBoneshark

Yea, that would put the beer industry out of business! Why buy a beer if you can conjure one?

  • @AlistairBoneshark hey iconjure! i need a beer

  • Awesome.

  • That is wery esoteric stuff?!Wher i can get this old stuff?!

  • Great stuff.

When people ask me to describe Black Widow, the closest I can come up with is "Black Sabbath meets Jethro Tull"

  • meraviglioso ALBUM

  • I bought this album from Record Club of America way back in I don't remember exactly when. Great album!

  • hi

pleased you like the album it was banned at the time in the USA in fact it was banned to a point in the UK

  • this is awesome

  • i kinda like the cult folk style of music now after hearing these can anyone tell me of any other bands that play folk/cult music like these at all? please

  • I cant think of anyone who has ever done it like Black Widow

  • well if you consider awsome yodaling try hocus pocus by focus

  • coven aint got nuthing on these guys tho! they turned in to a christian band(coven did)

the widow have been on my playlist for years, i've even got the rare japanese copy of the albulm with the bird naked on the front--insert jealousy:)

  • hi

that naked bird is Maxine Sanders Queen of the Witches, you wait till i tell her your balls will drop off

  • i heard about these earlyer on a website that had a brief history of satanism in music, it mentioned these guys being teh first band to bring satanism to the mainstream, saying that bands like black sabbath were barely occult compared to black widow.

  • hey mate, you should read the press not web.than you will know also about Coven.Bands like that put satanism into mainstream.also rolling stones.and many more.not One band.

  • reform ! I dont know where youd find virgins thesedays though ! the music will do !

  • they are reforming

  • GOD WILL PUNISH YOU AND YOU WILL ALL BE HURLED INTO THE ETERNAL FIRE!

... Err, unless you win ;-)

    clive

  • I love this band~

I specially love the song 'Sacrifice'~!

    Great Organ and guitar solos.

  • to kommati gamei ke dernei... exei epireasei black sabbath se musiki ke mayrilaaaaaaaaaa!!!! :P

  • to kommati gamei ke dernei... exei epireasei black sabbath se musiki ke mayrilaaaaaaaaaa!!!! :P

  • Dark side of progressive...

  • This is the best track with Black Widow, the lesslie organ in the beginning is fantastic, there has just been released a Live cd+ DVD with recordings from 1970 where they do the whole Sacrifice set.

  • I actually saw this band in west London in 1970. Heavy and seriously into black magic Great music.

  • Yet, still there's something so relaxing about their music. Occult rock has that effect. It's hard to find much of it though.

  • cgjung you might see them again I've talked to Clive and he says there's going to be a reunion!!!!!

  • Oooo PLEASE get 'im to promise there's going to be the full sacrifice stage set with the nude virgin and all the trimmings

... I missed it first time around ;-)

  • yeah they are actually my band might tour with them here in the US no shit!

  • sorry but im not a virgin anymore

    Clive

  • youre right, overall it was vastly inferior to this one

  • juajua venom dont invent the black metal black widow created ajaja

    these was a sarcasm obiously

many peple believe what venom or mercyful fate put the satanic sounds and lyrics in rock but many years this band do it

  • actually i think that Coven was the first, still

    same era

  • actually coven cameabout artound the same time but the didn't have the same influences and weren't covered by the press as much. or followed around by priests. :)

  • hi

Coven were in the USA we were UK great song we will hit the road soon i hope there will be a huge surprise with the line up

    Clive Jones x Black Widow

  • wicked!!!

  • Nice bass line

  • What version of this song do I have then? the cadence is faster and the bass is brighter,it almost sounds like a loop from a hip-hop song.

  • Hmmm, I like prog and I've never heard of them, weird.

  • I think it's true evil..... no scarry faces, no 666, no extreme music... just evil

  • The Black Widow dvd will be out early next year with the whole of the black magic show, thanks for the nice comments

    clive Jones x member

  • im looking very forward to that

  • thanks, I had this around '79, but not since, (as well as HEAD SHOP), AND recall liking "come to the sabbath"...maybe open the gatefold (wasnt it?)

  • I hope posts like this keep coming, this is an awsome classic band

  • they will, im about to post one from "return to the sabbat" which is pretty much a bootleg recording of the sacrifice sessions that was released a few years ago

  • ...takes me all the way back to Billericay, they played at the Archer Hall and I got to spend a brief moment with Kip Trevor...fancied him like mad...but alas I was about 13...wonder what they're doing now?

  • Thanks for this:)

  • Totally awesome post, please post more from this classic band.

  • One of the greatest bands ever!

  • yeah, this would definitely land on my top favorite 100 or so rock albums, it certainly falls under the category of "lost classic rock gems"
