So a game that was released in 1999, I know becUse I played it too, was released in 1992? Even though development began in 1995? That is 2 people claiming to play a game 7 years before it game out and 3 years before dev... Also remember 1992 was SNES era. Computers could not handle a game like the original eq in 1992... Grats on eq2 stealing from wow again. Yeah we have had those as a running joke/ fan favorite since Warcraft 2. They are called Pandarens. Shame on SOE.

@lotrdude327 um, EVERQUEST was released in 1992, which included the continent of Odus. On that Continent this race of Panda People existed. In other words they have been around since 1992. When was Warcraft 2 released? Oh yeah 1995, AFTER there where Panda People in Everquest. So once again Blizzard "steals" from Everquest, and a WoW fan Boy claims SoE "Stole" from Blizzard.

Lotrdude was talking about Warcraft 2 NOT WoW, different games. As for this model, I am not sure if there is a Player Illusion for this model available, I am sure if there isn't one there will be. However, it was specifically for NPCs that have been in the Everquest universe sense '92. Before even Warcraft 2(which is not WoW) came out.

@zzees That was kinda my point, there was a version of this mob in everquest sence it launched, the guy saying they are stealing from WoW, accually said they have been around sence Warcraft 2, Wich I believe is an RTS not MMO, so the "Pandaman" was a sprite at best, and even then Everquest predates that game.

@Atheocracy Your right I was wrong about the release date of EQ, but sence it was in Development for about 5 years the 1995 release of an RTS couldn't have influanced charactor addtions, not that an RTS would influance the first 3D MMORPG. That said like another poster said it appears the Pandarians where not added until Warcraft 3, a simple Google Search would prove that... maybe you should do your own research befor throwing insults.

@kelaEQ2 I didn't make the argument that Panderans were added in WC2, because any fan of the series know that they weren't. I made the argument that you were atrociously wrong about the release date of Everquest, which, might I add, was NOT the first 3D MMORPG, Meridian 59 was, which was released in 1995. Also, to think that when a game had only been in development for a year, the creators couldn't take queues from other games is completely ignorant.

@Atheocracy Your right I was wrong about the WC2 release date, but the fact that I was wrong is meaningless sence WC2 did not have, as you admit Panderans, that didn't come about until WC3 wich WAS released AFTER 1999. As far as one game taking ques from another, yeah that does happen alot, it would be dumb for them not too. However, I seriously doupt that an RPG is going to take Ques from an RTS, the game play is to differant.

Games like Everquest and World of Warcraft all HUGELY detract from games such as Dungeons and Dragons, and I'd say there's a more significant difference between a pen and paper RPG and an MMO then there is between an RTS and an MMO. Oh, and, I think you're forgetting that the most successful MMORPG of all time is based on one of the most successful RTS franchises of all time. Go back to school.

Halas is not going to be a part of the expansion, it is going to be Free Content added alongside of the expansion. As they stated this model is part of the expansion I would say your Assumption would be correct.

Nope, it is a NPC Race in the Stoneburnt Mountains, they have been there since EQ1. There won't be any new Race in the Expansion. There MIGHT be one in the Update that comes with the expansion, as they are adding a new city, however any word on that either way is just player speculation.

The reason that might be a possablity is because that Live Update will bring NEW Halas as a Player City into the game.

what I have infured from talking to the devs, and I have infured wrong many times, Is that there will be no new Race comming with New Halas. It will be a starting city(that is confirmed) and they have no Idea what races other then Barbarian(wich is a given) will start there.
