I too am a witness from the 60's at a Yale folk music gathering at Indian Wherever. I was mesmerized and infatuated by the waif in a trench coat belting out Buddy Holley in the sleezy bed room. Ah, to be twenty again. JKB
@kensingtonnh: What a memory to die for, and but for fate what a scene it woulda been with Bud n Carolyn n Bob D. too, all cuttin loose on down home Folk-Rock in '62. There's a photo of Texans Hester & Holly ridin the N.Y. Subway in '57.
wow carorlyn.you have a voice of an angel and you look so lovely.your voice makes me feel happy like theres no worries in the world , thank you so much. van-st.louis, mo.
So glad to see Carolyn on here. She is a friend of mine and I think it's a gas that she's on YT...we didn't have anything like this way back when....ha!! Love ya, Carolyn!! Carlie
WoW! I have waited so long to hear her again. This was wonderful. As difficult as parts of those times were, I certainly miss them and love the very rare, split-second moments when I can actually feel them again. A thousand thank yous to you, Paarschell.
the most absolutely amazing thing about Carolyn is she did not lose her voice at ALL. Unlike, very sadly, Joan Baez, who is even younger. :(

Can't say exactly when during the 2nd half of the '60's, Me and buddies went to a Hester concert at Eisenhower Park, Long Island.
Enjoying all of the songs before and after, we burst out in glee when she began to sing "Silver Dollar." She noted the outburst publicly.
Can anyone post video or footage of Ms. Hester performing this song? I would be most grateful see her perform it again....
(And, taking this opportunity to thank her still for the song, performance, and the +++memories!)

She rocks. Great guitar playing. Some sexy bluesy hillbilly notes with that voice.
