It took me 5 manuals/guides/tutorials to understand this game correctly but when u do, there's no better war strategy game. U have to understand about the real war doctrines like encirclement/breakthrough as that will determine what tech u research. U have to understand how to construct divisions/battalions etc etc. It's a mathematical engine

@blinky123abc I used to think that RUSE would work perfectly for that, but unfortunately it has no command structure, and we can't mod it to get full scale battles... A beautiful game, but not hoi3 unfortunately...
@vengefulnoob Yes ive played RUSE and during the first missions i saw potential but the base building and managing single tanks broke it. Turned out the only thing there was the name tags for divisions haha. Mainstream is always to afraid to try something groundbreaking and epic, yes RUSE did have a new idea but it certainly wasnt a groundbreaking game.

I was playing as US when I got the game. I invaded Panama, took over then Mexico attacked me. I lost all my provinces, and has alot of troops in my last territory D.C. But then Canada came to help and we took over all of Americas. I don't know why but my army sucked, i fully searched theories..
Just a question: Is it possible to make Soviet turn into the empire of tsar Russia? and to make US turn into Confederate state?. I know that this was possible in HOI2 and I also know that it was possble to turn Sweden,Noway,Finland and Denmark into the country of Scandinavia.

The way they designed the USA means that those stacks are all that really matter. All their VP provinces are worth only 1 each, even Washington, and there are 35 of them, making the long road to their surrender wreak havoc on any other more centralized nation with a juicy high VP capital. They contain about 50% of the manpower, 40% of the IC/Res/and Leadership. The USA literally is unbeatable when played by a good human without massive ganging.

@Omasters I once conquered Europe, Russia, North Africa, Middle East as Germany. I invaded Canada with no problems and at this time i still wasn't at war with the USA (started WW2 early) so i stacked i think 300,000~ troops in Canada and organised about 100-150,000 troops to attempt a amphibious landing on the East coast. My troops in canada got there asses handed to them due to supply problems and being outnumbered though they lasted over a year and my Amphib force was pushed into the ocean.
Too bad that democracy has now been in reality subverted by corporate fascist interests. If you live in America, get ready for some incredibly harsh times and possible civil war to restore the constitution.
I don't know why but I miss the old flag system in these new paradox games, the system where you could easily change a flag in game through events and such

Odds are that somebody in the modding community will create a "no time limit patch" that allows the game too go on forever just like they did with Hearts of Iron 2. I for one use it and i can play Hearts of Iron 2 and the add-on packs for it as long as i want without the game ending in 1964 like it would in Armageddon without the patch.
They used Satellite maps for Supreme Ruler 2020. But this is WWII. Old wars= Old-style maps. Just like with the music. I made a Rock/Metal soundpack for HOI2, but frankly, WWII style music works much better (and isn't copyrighted).
Of course not, they didn't need it, either. The point is that the map should _look_ kind of old and perhaps even somewhat resemble the maps of the era, or at least popular perception of what they looked like.

well, they don't have to be dicks about the camps, but adding them is important as they were there, and they played a role in the war itself. I wouldn't say having the option to kill millions and spread nazism in the same game makes it any less controversial.
It would be awesome for the allies to get victory points for liberating them maybe. It could be an incentive for them, and maybe the axis could work towards finishing the J-Question by needing to complete their goal by a certain year. It could be a race against time.
I personally would take that as offence if they included those camps. I was in Aushwitz once, and those people who died there deserve dignity. But i understand that those camps are not such an issue for you. Wheter you like it or on not Paradox wont include them. And i'm not being a dick about it, honestly millions died there. You can't make a fun of it and cleanse Poland in the game. I think that would be wrong.
And war is different from camps, because you can kill back. It's still slaughter, but at least you have a chance. This is why killing in the battle is different from murder. And of course whole war was controversial enough. In the end of the day if you want it you can mod some events for Germany to include Role Playing con camps, it will be your copy so you can do whatever you want with it. It was just my 5 pence. No i can't tell you what you should play. But no developer with half a brain is going to create such a game. There was actually this one game created for the PS2 where you were a manager of a large nazi death camp with the purpose of the game being to "insure the success of the final solution" and the game was take out of stores because of the outcry it caused. There is something called a fact that maybe you do not know. I think that there are maybe 4-8 people on here who would agree with you. @heisenfeis It is a hella old symbol that pre-dates Hinduism by a few thousand years. That symbol of the Sun is really prevalent across the world. I mean, even a US army division used to have the swastika as their badge! But that only lasted 'till 1939, for obvious reasons.

The communists and nationalists had an uneasy ceasefire during WW2, which promptly ended after the armistice.
HOWEVER... you are quite right regarding the rest - it was true tha China was torn up by individual warlords from 1915 and onwards BUT Chang Kai-shek and Kuomintang had annihilated some and pacified the rest by the late 1920´s
My best bet is that that have done it for pure gameplay balance ie. not to make China too strong?

The game was banned in MAINLAND China because the chinese leadership are paranoid and extremely jealous of Republic of China (ie. Taiwan).
Anyone banning a GAME and claiming its propaganda are simply too stupid to be taken seriously. However considering the violent and aggressive nature of the communist chinese leadership then I would have expected nothing less.

BlastingFatHerns, Concentration camps have no place in a game primarily about the war between soldiers not civilians, it's irrelevant and obviously extremely offensive. Here is the official word from HOI3 forums..
"There will not be any gulags or deathcamps (including POW camps) to build in Hearts of Iron3, nor will there be the ability to simulate the Holocaust or systematic purges, so I ask you not to discuss these topics as they are not related to this game. Thank You. "

Odds are that somebody in the modding community will create a "no time limit patch" that allows the game too go on forever just like they did with Hearts of Iron 2. I for one use it and i can play Hearts of Iron 2 and the add-on packs for it as long as i want without the game ending in 1964 like it would in Armageddon without the patch.

They used Satellite maps for Supreme Ruler 2020. But this is WWII. Old wars= Old-style maps. Just like with the music. I made a Rock/Metal soundpack for HOI2, but frankly, WWII style music works much better (and isn't copyrighted).

well, they don't have to be dicks about the camps, but adding them is important as they were there, and they played a role in the war itself. I wouldn't say having the option to kill millions and spread nazism in the same game makes it any less controversial.

It would be awesome for the allies to get victory points for liberating them maybe. It could be an incentive for them, and maybe the axis could work towards finishing the J-Question by needing to complete their goal by a certain year. It could be a race against time.

I personally would take that as offence if they included those camps. I was in Aushwitz once, and those people who died there deserve dignity. But i understand that those camps are not such an issue for you. Wheter you like it or on not Paradox wont include them. And i'm not being a dick about it, honestly millions died there. You can't make a fun of it and cleanse Poland in the game. I think that would be wrong.

And war is different from camps, because you can kill back. It's still slaughter, but at least you have a chance. This is why killing in the battle is different from murder. And of course whole war was controversial enough. In the end of the day if you want it you can mod some events for Germany to include Role Playing con camps, it will be your copy so you can do whatever you want with it. It was just my 5 pence. There was actually this one game created for the PS2 where you were a manager of a large nazi death camp with the purpose of the game being to "insure the success of the final solution" and the game was take out of stores because of the outcry it caused. Bad public reaction=No money. No money=No motivation for the developers to create such a game.

There is something called a fact that maybe you do not know. I think that there are maybe 4-8 people on here who would agree with you. Maybe you think that is a large amount, I do not know but there are at least way more who agree with me.
