One thing: Not all games have the engine capable of using DX11.

For instance, games with the Uengine (unreal), can use it. It depends of the engine.

dx11 doesn't have anything to do with this. the cryengine 3 is designed to run on consoles, meaning, that its not as good as the cry engine 2, and doesn't have any dx11 effects in it. a 280 could run this resolution fine with this engine....

it might support it, but its not doing anything over dx9. atleast the current incarnation of cryengine 3, because consoles dont do anything over dx9. i doubt that they will be using the cryengine 3 in its current state in the next crysis game, due to its inferiority in comparison to cryengine 2.

I could criticize ur lack of knowledge about video game engines, instead ill just advice you to get at least ur facts rite. It is said that CryEngine 3 will have all the newest software-related features, including DirectX11 and a recent rumor to have full 3D support.

i've actually worked with 3d engines before, and the features its implementing are rather intriguing, however their implementation isn't going to a big performance hit, and thus the lower quality. besides, no other information about the engine has a risen, even as of late.

As you mentioned earlier about the engine being built to run on consoles. Yes thats true but not completely focused on console, they only implemented that so they can make more money. To see the engine run with all its glory, you must play Crysis 2 on PC and only PC because no current console can handle the true, raw engine.
