Depends. Look at the system requirements on the website. Most newer cards can run it on low-medium, but if you have integrated or very old graphics you won't be able to get it running well, if at all.

Anyway, this graphics card is very good, easy for the wallet.. Remember that Crysis runs HORRIBLE on Vista, runs HORRIBLE because of its HORRIBLE graphics engine. And still getting 15fps in the HORRIBLE ice level, which has lots of fucking details... and also runing at dx10!

Turns out i had to change my Power options, for some reason, my PC was set to least performance and best energy savings, changed that to middle performance and i boosted Crysis by 30+frames :]

While I agree Vista is a hog, You just need to turn off un needed services and programs running in the background. Just google Speed up vista and you can come across tons of ways to speed it up. I did a little of what one person said and droped RAM ussage from around 50% idle to about 30% and only .8-10% CPU at Idle.

It won't run good unless you get a new CPU because the CPU u have now can't handle the GFX card so i'd say get a dual core @ 2.4+ ghz and you'll run it on med/high smooth

The EVGA 8800gs SC actually plays Crysis fairly well considering it is an amazing overclocker for the money. With stock cooling I have managed 745/1877/2140. A 9850be @ 3ghz helps me get 12500+ marks in 3dmark06. impressive for a rig under $650.

Just a word of warning. 8800GS's do not SLI very well. Performance is a bit crap in most games. A few of my friends have 8800GT's and they seem to give about the same performance (sometimes better, sometimes worse depending on the game). However an 8800GT uses less power and is cheaper.

You obviously have a few virus's or spyware on your computer. I used to get that many fps or better on ALL high on my old pc (3ghz SINGLE CORE 2gb ddr1 ram, radeon 3850, crysis is optimized for geforce cards too)

Perhaps it was the 1.1 patch, or the fact that it was dx9,or maybe even that I was playing one resolution option below you, but I think it's more likely you're running much more programs in the background then you need. Some of which might be very bad ones that you don't want.

i found halo to be much smoother using analog controller as well because mouse input is not designed for gaming, as where an analog controller informs the game to rotate viewport at rate x across co-ordinate x,y or z and mouse just jumps around and forces software to smooth out the input changes.

Try opening MSPaint, draw a circle using any brush, now do it really fast, it is an interpretation of points rather than an actually arch and just draws lines to join them like connect the dots
