  • I rarely go "mmmmmmm" when i hear drum videos. EXCELLENT, and dont let anyone else convince you otherwise.

  • what size is your bass drum?

  • I see you like zebras...

  • hey, is that the proline mini mic boom stand for the bass drum?

  • Try B-12! Or 5 hour energy!

  • I'm just wondering, whats the point of microphones?

  • @Shriffican there wouldn't be any sound without them...

  • Fantastic sound.I can hear everything clearly.Nice chops too.I wish I could play double bass like you.I guess I'll just keep practicing.

  • the eq levels in this video are terrible, all i can hear is the snare.

  • @Possumzz u must be tone deaf

  • DUDE! I dig the finish and the tom depths!

  • I still can't do the double bass drum >.> love yours

  • GREAT VID

  • What's the paint can there for?

  • which mic are you using to mic the kick drum?

  • that is the sexiest sound i have ever heard come out of a drum kit. great job man!!

  • love the bassdrum and snare sound! :D

Did u put alot of effects on it like EQ , reverb compression and noise gates?

I'm thinkin about buying drum mics, but with all those effects it seems a little bit complicated :D

  • Nice bass flares. I just have 2 questions. 1 Is that a paint can ? and 2 Could you please make this look like it's takes a little effort to play like this, your making it look way too easy and I might think I can play like this. nice vid.

  • hey im thinking of getting the metalworks steel tama snare drum , is it cool and good??

  • What do use for EQ? i love this sound, and i need some ideas for home recording.

  • Snare is a little loud IMO. Could use a little more kick.

  • what drums do you have??

  • are you micing the bottom of the snare? if not you should do that and experiment but just make sure you invert the phase, and i really wanna hear this with tom mics.

  • sounds like ur forcing the sounds out of the drums u need loosen up and have fun with it and in time ull get better

  • what size bass is that?

  • great snare!

  • dude you should play to a metronome

  • what kind of hats do u have they sound awesome

  • Sounds pretty good, maybe another overhead (or different placing + levels) for hi-hat. Decent snare sound, and tight bass drum. (y)

  • nice kit

  • Hey~~ great bass drum sound!! I am thinking to buy a Nady DM 90 as well~~ any tips for me to get a good bass drum sound out of that mic?? did you put any reverb or compressor on it as well?? thanx~

  • good recording, but you should move the overheads i front of the kit and have them higher up to capture the sound of the whole sound of the kit, then EQ to get the sound you want, then gate and pan it to add depth to the sound, Also set the gain levels higher on the overheads.

  • What china, ride are you using in this video ??

    PLEASE ANSWER!

  • no great drumming I'm sorry

  • lol dude nice but your snares prob the thing that needed the LEAST mic'ing. too loudddd

  • Good but turn the overheads up I can't hardly hear anything

  • nice sounding bass

  • NICE!!!

  • tht nady dm 90's sounding great, im buyin it now

  • How do you get your drums to sound so in tune i how to tune theme but i meen this one sounds awesome!

  • yo dumbass theres mics

  • Yo Dumbass this an't your video so stay the the fuck out of this! i was'int asking for a fucking little punk to tell me, i was wanting Exi7Music to tell me, not fucking jackoffthedrummer96 OK!

  • LOLZ!!!!

  • Great drumming!

But turn the overheads up! Way up!

    Or the snare down....

    just my opinion ; )

  • pretty nice.

You know, If you don't have any tom mics

you can manipulate Overheads to get a nice stable sound out of the toms.. but somthing's in your sound - it sounds like you've got an half woking overhead..

Liked the snare sound! well done!

  • snare sounds great. what size is it?

  • sounds great but like that other person said work on that tempo love your set

  • nice sounds, what ride cymbal is that? what crashes and hats? i'd love to hear the toms mic'd too

  • i need to know, what exactly type of jack or connector did your microphone plug in with? was it a 1/4 inch jack or an xlr connector? i need to know because i'm considering purchasing drum microphones and i want them to be able to work with my mixing deck which requires 1/4 inch jacks.

  • I though the snare sound was great personally. Very lively and natural sounding.

  • me too.

  • hey man what about your bass drum heads in this video?

    emad 2 batter

    and powerstroke 3 coated resonant?

  • you got it!

  • wow ahaha

however great sound i like that a lot.

  • Hey dude, just wondering, what are the cymbal specifications, they sound nice, cheers.

  • Doooood...dropping time like a mug! A metronome is your friend.

  • so is an e-ring or moon gel for that snare. Lars Ulrich might sue for stealing his "St. Anger" sound.

but overall, the kit sounds pretty tight.

  • hey, how high and far would you say you put the C2 i just got some so im trying to see how far i should put them from the set thanks!

  • by the way do you put your snare mic over it or under it?

  • hey man you're style is really cool! and the sound too, what kind of drumheads have you used?!

  • nice vid bro.. yoo i gotta question.. what do i need with the mics.. i gotta mixer and mics.. what else do i need?

  • well obviously your gonna need some sort of recording software. i reccomend Live7 by ableton, and plug your mixer into a line6 toneport gx and then plug that into the computer. its really simple once you go through the manual.

  • What kind of snare are you using? sounds great

  • tama metalworks 13x4. ;) thanks!

  • it`s ok but watch the pulse.

    cheers

  • OOPS I meant they look like 24x18 or 19

  • could be, but it looks more like a 20x22

  • Real nice drums!! So are you planning to get another floor tom, or are you just keeping it small?

Because either way, that kit is badass!

And what is the size of that bass drum?

They look like 24x26. Its pretty big!

  • i have the metalworks 6.5x13, i love it. nice sounding bass and toms and cymbals and snare. love the sound of the whole kit. also, what sticks are those? they seem to be very long

  • omg, the snare and bass, OMG! JEEZ wonderful

  • i have a tama metalworks snare too they are totally awesome! i have the 4"x12" snare it is awesome

  • Wat kind of china is that?

  • not very exceptionnellement

  • hey this sounds good but just a little advice. work on your tempo. i know you were just messin around but when you go into your fills the time changes. sometimes it rushed and other times it dragged

  • Really good sound !!! Nice footwork as well. My double pedal skills are not really good, i need to work them up to par.

  • Overhead mics do best when they're actually over something. (other than a fancy zebra carpet) haha

You would've been better off just using that mic to get your floor tom.

  • good quality,

you need to keep practicing though

Just work on some foot rudiments to work your footwork and work on a more "confident" feel

  • just messing around man, After a few hours of trying to get mic's to sound good with built in EQ; Drum skills are decreased greatly due to frustration. I'm not even enthusiastic at this point, heh. Thanks though! : )

  • man how did you get that finish on your fxr when i got mine it was either tobacco fade of cherry

did you custom make that finish?

  • where did you place the sm57 around the snare. Under, top, side?

  • How do you tune your snare? Tight or loose? Do you have anything on the snare for sound, i.e. rings, dampeners, etc...

  • Pdp drumset? =O

howd you go about refinishing your drumset?

  • Sounds awesome, just need some tom mics.

  • omg, it sounds amazing.

  • What sizes are the snare?

    5x14?

  • 4x13 Tama metalworks snare. ;)

  • Ah. Sounds great!

    Nice playin!

  • awesome, how did u get such good bass drum sound? what mic did u use for the bass drum? how did u position it? how tight are the heads? and how did u mix it? thank u

  • nady dm 90

  • hell yea jake

    gettin off

  • I love the sound of your bass. I'm guessing you would recommend the DM-90? :P

  • definitely, and its only $50!!!!

  • you need to get another over head over by your zillbell and high hat and turn ur the snare mic down a bit

  • only working with 4 inputs now, but adjustments have already been made to those. thanks for the suggestion. ;)

  • oh sorry just realized that the hihats are coming through overheads so not much you could do

  • the kick mic was only $49.99! Nady dm-90 brand new for that price. No EQ on it, just a small amount of reverb on the whole kit!

  • niiiiiiiicee!!

  • yeah man, to get it perfect, soon getting triggers for everything on the kit (so'z I can convert it to midi, not the jesus velocity.) then get 2 more c2's to get the perfect recording. you won't be disappointed with them. I have a video with guitar already uploaded, it is being processed now, check back in a few minutes for something possibly cool. ;)

  • yeh i was also thinking that over, having a module with triggers and then just overheads for the cymbals and such... but then what you gotta do is gate the overheads so u dont get blead from the real sound of the acoustic drums and just the cymbals

  • i love the clicky sound of your bass drum. Really nice sound that your getting. I just think that the hihats could have been louder but apart from that - AWESOME!!! I just ordered a pair of behringer c2s a few days ago so im excited for them to arrive!!!

  • nah, i wish.

i dont have anywhere to do it really though

how do u do a video and get the good sound?

  • record video and sound at the same time, then spend 30 minutes in adobe premier syncing the two together. ;) Where are you from?

  • drum sounds really frickin good!!!

u gonna do any more videos?

  • yeah, as of now I'm just trying to get the drums sounding good and posting a video every time I adjust something until I get it right with what I've got. soon we're going to be doing guitar, synth, accordian, other things and vocals. ;) thanks btw!

  • yeah dude the drums sound great and i cant wait to hear more

  • thanks a lot man, We're right now working with only four mics, tom mics are on the way then I can switch my overheads back to being overheads and the overall sound will be amazingggg.

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • got any recordings or videos?
