Nice bass flares. I just have 2 questions. 1 Is that a paint can ? and 2 Could you please make this look like it's takes a little effort to play like this, your making it look way too easy and I might think I can play like this. nice vid.
are you micing the bottom of the snare? if not you should do that and experiment but just make sure you invert the phase, and i really wanna hear this with tom mics.
Hey~~ great bass drum sound!! I am thinking to buy a Nady DM 90 as well~~ any tips for me to get a good bass drum sound out of that mic?? did you put any reverb or compressor on it as well?? thanx~
good recording, but you should move the overheads i front of the kit and have them higher up to capture the sound of the whole sound of the kit, then EQ to get the sound you want, then gate and pan it to add depth to the sound, Also set the gain levels higher on the overheads.
Yo Dumbass this an't your video so stay the the fuck out of this! i was'int asking for a fucking little punk to tell me, i was wanting Exi7Music to tell me, not fucking jackoffthedrummer96 OK!
you can manipulate Overheads to get a nice stable sound out of the toms.. but somthing's in your sound - it sounds like you've got an half woking overhead..
i need to know, what exactly type of jack or connector did your microphone plug in with? was it a 1/4 inch jack or an xlr connector? i need to know because i'm considering purchasing drum microphones and i want them to be able to work with my mixing deck which requires 1/4 inch jacks.
well obviously your gonna need some sort of recording software. i reccomend Live7 by ableton, and plug your mixer into a line6 toneport gx and then plug that into the computer. its really simple once you go through the manual.
i have the metalworks 6.5x13, i love it. nice sounding bass and toms and cymbals and snare. love the sound of the whole kit. also, what sticks are those? they seem to be very long
hey this sounds good but just a little advice. work on your tempo. i know you were just messin around but when you go into your fills the time changes. sometimes it rushed and other times it dragged
just messing around man, After a few hours of trying to get mic's to sound good with built in EQ; Drum skills are decreased greatly due to frustration. I'm not even enthusiastic at this point, heh. Thanks though! : )
awesome, how did u get such good bass drum sound? what mic did u use for the bass drum? how did u position it? how tight are the heads? and how did u mix it? thank u
yeah man, to get it perfect, soon getting triggers for everything on the kit (so'z I can convert it to midi, not the jesus velocity.) then get 2 more c2's to get the perfect recording. you won't be disappointed with them. I have a video with guitar already uploaded, it is being processed now, check back in a few minutes for something possibly cool. ;)
yeh i was also thinking that over, having a module with triggers and then just overheads for the cymbals and such... but then what you gotta do is gate the overheads so u dont get blead from the real sound of the acoustic drums and just the cymbals
i love the clicky sound of your bass drum. Really nice sound that your getting. I just think that the hihats could have been louder but apart from that - AWESOME!!! I just ordered a pair of behringer c2s a few days ago so im excited for them to arrive!!!
yeah, as of now I'm just trying to get the drums sounding good and posting a video every time I adjust something until I get it right with what I've got. soon we're going to be doing guitar, synth, accordian, other things and vocals. ;) thanks btw!
thanks a lot man, We're right now working with only four mics, tom mics are on the way then I can switch my overheads back to being overheads and the overall sound will be amazingggg.
I rarely go "mmmmmmm" when i hear drum videos. EXCELLENT, and dont let anyone else convince you otherwise.

so is an e-ring or moon gel for that snare. Lars Ulrich might sue for stealing his "St. Anger" sound.
but overall, the kit sounds pretty tight.

Really good sound !!! Nice footwork as well. My double pedal skills are not really good, i need to work them up to par.
JohnAnthonyRock 2 years ago
Overhead mics do best when they're actually over something. (other than a fancy zebra carpet) haha
You would've been better off just using that mic to get your floor tom.
toetappingtengo1 2 years ago 2
good quality,
you need to keep practicing though
Just work on some foot rudiments to work your footwork and work on a more "confident" feel
