I've heard mack motors aren't very loud, they are about in the same category as caterpillars are as far as sound goes i think. TO me this sounds like a truck my dad drives which has a cummins and with the muffler on it's about as loud as this is.

the only thing that mack has against other manufacturers is that they make almost all their own components for the truck instead of buying the axles from rockwell or spicer and the tranny's from eaton fuller. but thats not necessairly a good thing because then prices for parts tend to skyrocket.
