I am not making excuses for the level of racism towards Mexicans, but when illegal immigrants come into this country for a better life, most people don't blame them, I don't blame them. Canada has the best national anthem in north america, because everyone can sing it. The United States has the worst because it's difficult to sing, national anthems are for the people, not for every damn american idol reject to try to extend their 15 minutes of fame at every sporting event.

An anthem should be judged on its poetic and musical beauty and the degree to which it stirs feelings of patriotism, not how easy it is to sing. Of course, it needs to be POSSIBLE to do it, but I'm quite capable of singing the "Star Spangled Banner" (it used to be a popular drinking song, so I'm not the only one. Why not change the tune of "O Canada" to match "Mary Had a Little Lamb"? That would make even easier to sing! ;)

I wasn't talking about the Mexican National Anthem. I actually made a comment about how much I liked the Mexican National Anthem. I was responding to someone else who argued Canada's anthem (I am Canadian) was better than the US Anthem because it was "easier to sing". I argued good national anthems should be stirring BEFORE they are easy to sing...and yes, I know enough Spanish to get the gist of the Mexican anthem, and I thought it was both stirring and patriotic. :)

@Fredfredbug4 Like someone already said to you, it isn't about getting a passport, any Mexican can get a Mexican passport, it is the US government that doesn't provide a visa to all who apply and charge a high amount of money in order to get one and at least 6 out of 10 Mexicans cannot afford to pay such an amount, even less if they are turned down once and have to re-apply for a visa and pay it again. So they go for the next best thing, jump the border and hope not to get caught.

However, numbers speak for themselves, it is a pity but it is reality. But still, there's a minority within humans that have matured enough to accept others as equals :D

Canada has the best national anthem in north america, because everyone can sing it. The United States has the worst because it's difficult to sing, national anthems are for the people, not for every damn american idol reject to try to extend their 15 minutes of fame at every sporting event.

An anthem should be judged on its poetic and musical beauty and the degree to which it stirs feelings of patriotism, not how easy it is to sing. Of course, it needs to be POSSIBLE to do it, but I'm quite capable of singing the "Star Spangled Banner" (it used to be a popular drinking song, so I'm not the only one. Why not change the tune of "O Canada" to match "Mary Had a Little Lamb"? That would make even easier to sing! ;)

I wasn't talking about the Mexican National Anthem. I actually made a comment about how much I liked the Mexican National Anthem. I was responding to someone else who argued Canada's anthem (I am Canadian) was better than the US Anthem because it was "easier to sing". I argued good national anthems should be stirring BEFORE they are easy to sing...and yes, I know enough Spanish to get the gist of the Mexican anthem, and I thought it was both stirring and patriotic. :)

@Fredfredbug4 Like someone already said to you, it isn't about getting a passport, any Mexican can get a Mexican passport, it is the US government that doesn't provide a visa to all who apply and charge a high amount of money in order to get one and at least 6 out of 10 Mexicans cannot afford to pay such an amount, even less if they are turned down once and have to re-apply for a visa and pay it again. So they go for the next best thing, jump the border and hope not to get caught.
