first off thank you. I learned a lot and put it to good use. I feel stupid saying this but it's the truth. I had no idea I could even put the color layer under my line art.

secondly do you have a tutorial on using the paths tool in Gimp? I just cant seem to get the hang of it. really I don't understand what I'm doing at all when I use it so I just don't use it. coloring takes even more time than it should because I have to go over all my line art and clean it up.

and again i found it out! for anyone who wants to know how to save it and share it on deviantart, what i did atleast was export it as jpg (although its better to do bmp). Idk where the manual export button is so when you save it have it as such : nameyoudesire.bmp (or jpg)

@Rattyremy You know in the "layer etc." box, it says "layers" on the top of it. Beneath that, it says "mode" and "normal" (i think). Change normal to "multiply" and you will do fine. Hope you understanded it.. ^^

Great Tutorial! I Loved It. Just to expand on the magic wand tool part, Once you have selected the outside and grown it you can press delete and it erases everything you dont need. 8D

@maplexpancakes if you used more than 1 layer and want to put it into WMM name it: nameofpicture.png ( you can also put .jpg, but i prefer .png .)

An easier way- put the lineart layer on Mode multiply, then put the coloring layer on multiply. It makes the coloring see through.

i like how u shade except i am cautious about light shading because it makes the fur look wet sometimes... i usually make it up by just doing more dark shading xD

It took me a while but I figured it out1 At first, the paint was either transparent or covered the cats outline.

@Baxtwr add a new layer, and click the down arrow button to move it down, and the up arrow button to move it up :P or click and drag the layer to where you want it to be.
