same thing with my macbook, it´s just the fan that´s worn out.... This is my first mac but things have been falling apart during these 3 years, and that has never happend to my pc´s...
@Jehhuu i just did the same, but used industrial thread oil. magic. fixed. also accidentally broke 1 fan blade off. so i took off the blade opposite that to balance the whole thing while it spins. dead silent now
Yeah, I'm angry, I'm dealin with the exact same problem right now, (plus a mac partition that won't boot because it's corrupted and unrepairable by Disk Utility running from the install DVD, and I'm rushing trying to get all my data backed up). I don't like that I need to send it away, but I guess I'll have to deal with it, I might as well use the warranty I paid extra for.
go into the Apple store ASAP and see if they'll do it anyways. A friend of mine had poor battery life and she was about a month or two over her applecare and they fixed it for her without any hassle. They're pretty nice about that kind of stuff. :)
Yeah, that happend with my old desktop, I had to wire a fan and glue it to the power supply to keep it cool. It still works now haha, but yeah bring it to apple to get it fixed, eventually it will stop spinning and your motherboard/power supply will cook.
My Macbook Pro unibody is doing the exact same thing as I'm writing this. It started off with a small noise a couple weeks ago but that faggot finally came out of the closet. And is a full blown cock sucker now! Super loud and it really pisses me off because the computer is very new.
i see. if you're still within you original warranty, you don't pay extra. If you purchased your macbook w/ applecare then it's covered. if you're out of warranty you gotta foot the bill.

you have to reset the PRAM turn it off
take the battery out
hold power button for 5 sec
put batter back in and it should work
i also heard of doing the battery steps then as soon as u turn it back on u press some buttons when you hear the chime

there's something fucked up inside...

Guys, i have a fix for, it might sound wierd but it worked fine with me.
Take the fan out and put small ammount of olive oil in the fan hole (EXTRASUPERSMALL AMMOUNT!) And it's fine.
0.20$ olive oil -> 100$ apple store bill.
Apple decided to put brushless fan motors in the new macbook so it needs little oil now and then.

I went to Apple and they repaired it without hassle. :)

Does it void your warranty?
TheOverseerVideos 1 year ago
nope, unless you fix it yourself.
Bobdude161 1 year ago
I mean do you have to pay for another applecare plan or anything like that?
