I have a BMW e90 wich i love, but dont underestimate the japanese cars. Watch the mazda furai car and hear its sound. When it comes to a everyday car use, deffinetly a BMW or Mercedes is the best choice, but the japanese make hell of cool cars aswell. I do. The M3 has better poise and balance for everyday use (if equipped with the M-DCT) but the M6's engine is just mind blowing and feels a lot more "at home" in the M6 than the M5. The M6's top end performance is really what makes it worth it, you'll go from 80-160 in no time and with little effort, it's pretty exciting on the road.
ive seen only 3 m6s on the street. one in tehran, iran, one in beverly hills, and one in DC. i tried to race the one in DC but could not communicate with him kuzz it as a 1 way road. i stood behind him, and i must say. the m6 sounds amazing. i will one day sit in an m6. and see if this 80-160 you are talking about is as good as you say. :D

well it was in BMW's brochure at the dealership, it would be quite absurd for BMW to lie about their own products or for someone to suggest they might do such a thing. I also don't know what would posses you to think a cast iron I6 block is lighter than an aluminum V8 block.
But i'll still give you the benefit of the doubt and keep an eye out for a 5spd E46 M3 to see if it really is lighter like you say, even though all M3's have come with 6 speeds for about 10 years now.

BTW check curbweight if you are right in what you are saying than only by simple cancelling out lets see where the weigh is. Body for body e92 is lighter, the engine is supposedly 25lbs lighter in ONLY 6 spd trim add DCT bye bye engine and tranny are way over the e46. BMW should have never left the I6.

I do. The M3 has better poise and balance for everyday use (if equipped with the M-DCT) but the M6's engine is just mind blowing and feels a lot more "at home" in the M6 than the M5. The M6's top end performance is really what makes it worth it, you'll go from 80-160 in no time and with little effort, it's pretty exciting on the road.

umm BMW has never put Turbos into M3's or V6's into any of their cars. They use inline 6 cylinder engines. you must be thinking of another car, no offense.
but did you know that the V8's from these M3's are lighter than the inline 6 cyl. engines from the last M3? (e46)

The BMW E90 335 has a Twin Turbo 6 cylinder.
The X6 also comes in a V8 twin turbo.

the M3 does have v8s but roomer is its going back to the 6 with turbo, and the M5 and M6 will change from the v10 to the turbo v8
