"He's goin' to Mac-Donald's...he's not even done with his dinner and he's goin' to Mac-Donald's! What do you think they do at Mac-Donald's? They don't drink milkshakes, I can assure you!" LOL. Harve Presnell - RIP
A Magnificent voice surely missed. When ever I hear this it reminds me that "I had a girl and she had me and the sun was always shinin`. But then one day I left my girl, I left her far behind me and now I`m lost, so galled and lost, not even God can find me." "And now I`m lost without a star to guide me." How true !!
It's hard to believe that this is the same guy who played William H. Macy's father-in-law in the movie: Fargo. In this life time certainly can take its tow.
I have always enjoyed Harve Presnell. My favorite role was his performance as the scout Sol Rogers in the motion picture 'The Glory Guys'. Granted, it was a non-singing role but, his last plaintive cry for one more day, as he lay dying, was very stirring.
Thank God for youtube videos The richness and culture you find in these amazing youtube videos that people take their precious time to put together is what really makes my day.
What a voice, what a man! This is the first time I´ve heard this singer. Amazing.
@ThePortes1234 Agreed, most people tend to think of the modern era as the "death of culture," but if it weren't for things like youtube, IMDB, wikipedia, facebook, etc...we wouldn't get to share some of this classic stuff. I have gotten into so many artists/genres just from finding stuff on youtube.
Beautiful song, beautiful voice, and hey, it doesn't hurt that this man is major eye candy. I've heard other versions of "They Call The Wind Maria(h?)", and some are pretty good, but this is the best, in my opinion.
What a set of pipes on this man ....The great Harve Presnell also played William Macy's father in law in Fargo .....ps....it's Harve Presnell, not Pernell Roberts
Back iin the 70's, my boyfriend had the "Paint Your Wagon" LP, and we'd listen to this song over and over again. I haven't heard this song in years, and am so glad you shared it with us. It's even better watching Harve sing it! . . . I also listened to Pernell Roberts sing it, and his version is wonderful too!
Incredible rendidtion of this song - exciting and bright! Take a few minutes and listen to Pernell Roberts do this old beauty. His voice is so smoooth, so vibrant, deeply alive. His bass makes an amazing counterpoint to Presnell's tenor. Both are outstanding!!
A brilliant song by a superb artist of a bygone age. A consumate performer on stage and film, whose legacy must be this outstanding performance. RIP Harve Presnell...."I need my girl beside me !"
This is just fabulous! Thank you so much for posting...made my day!

Monumental song ... and great audio quality. The voices of the Roger Wagner chorale/ guys are very clear here. Epic intro by these guys.

Brilliant. Thank you for posting. Harve was one of the most under appreciated actors ever. This showcases his amazing voice.
