  • This video is made of pure sterling win

  • thanks for that viodo it mad eme cry i love border collies i live on a farm we havent had foot and mouth we have 10 borders collie therer all a loveky bunch rachel***

  • Amazing work Collie rescue!

Lets all hope and pray for the future of UK farming, Livestock, Farmers...and of course...our beloved Colliedogs :(

  • Aww those poor collies. I pray that the latest outbrake of Foot and Mouth does not turn out like the foot and mouth in 2001. Well done for helping all those needy wonderful collies :)

  • Yes, we are also praying - along with most of the country! It is slightly weird that we sat on hours of video footage about what we did in the last outbreak for years. Then - a month or so after deciding to share some of it on YouTube we get this new outbreak.

So we are now on standbye again and having to change procedures 'just in case'. Also - cos the centre is in the sticks, biosecurity raises its head.

Its already a disaster - lets hope its a small, short one!

  • Tonights news (3rd August 07) reported that there has been a new outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease confirmed late yesterday in cattle on a farm near Guildford, Surrey. The cattle are due to be culled and there will probably be a cull of livestock on adjoining properties. We hope we do not have to go though that again. perhaps the authorities will contain it this time.

  • Thank you Mr. Johnson and Mr. Benfield for taking Ted and Boz. What a waste that would be if these dogs could not herd sheep again. That is such a tragedy for the farmers in the epidemic. We raise sheep and Angora goats in Texas and these dogs are worth their weight in gold. Thank you for Border Collie Rescue, UK. Sometimes what we do in our lives on this earth makes a difference. You make a difference.

  • Very kind of you to say that. The Border Collie is designed to herd and it is such a waste of talent and energy when a good working dog is deprived of the opportunity. Many of the 'unwanted' and hyperactive pets we take in would have been sane and well balanced dogs if they had been allowed to do what they were bred for.

The breed does make a good companion dog if the individual lacks the instinct and drive to work. Otherwise it is often a disaster for the dog and owner.

  • Very moving and informative. I didn't realise this was happening at the time. WELL DONE BORDER COLLIE RESCUE.

  • A lot of people were unaware of the less obvious repercussions of the way Foot and Mouth was handled.

We did our bit in the way we could help, but millions of animals died for 'economic' reasons. Let's hope we have all learned something from the experience.
