I've been trying and failing at re-creating the LightBike's light-track.

Using a simple mesh following a path seems to be the answer, but in the Tron world, the tracks never fade until the bike turns off. I can create a very long light mesh but it tends to crash my system when I impliment the Boolean modifier. If anyone has a solution, please PM me here. Feel like Arrays need to used.

@SEspider I'd like to know that myself. Finishing up my own tron-bike animation, but no light trails cuz i can't figure out a simple way how. There should be a way in blender to smudge the color of something, leaving a trail (Just like the rear wheel of a light cycle).

I've never used curves before so I have a few more questions: How do you animate the curves? What is their material? And my very last question: will the animation still work If I delete those spinning things?

@jokegred the trails are just curves. The things under the plane are objects that are used and then removed from view. They are only under the plane when they are out of view.

This is completely amazing! I totally appreciate the entire Tron tutorials on making the glow effects which I've been longing to figure out how to do, but will you be doing a tutorial on how to make and set up these halo/grid effect/patterns on the bikes? Possibly also including the lines that follow the bikes aswell?
