The camera squid idea from season two was a genius idea. That was one of the few episodes of monsterquest that actually had really novel interesting approach to try to prove or disprove the "monster".

this guy knows what he is talking about I just saw him on a show that said the humbolt squids have 36,000 teeth as each of there suction cups have sets, and they can rip chunks out of your arms and legs. they also watched the divers get into to a saftey cage and then swam up and unlocked to the door mechanism. they are fast smart and canabalistic under stress, bare in mind these grow from eggs to upto 6 metres in 1 year where they die, which is the same as a human baby 1yr to a Blue whale !!!

Humboldts are veracious killers, they have claws in their suction cups for gad's sake, these are deadly animals people need to be aware of, on History Channel's Monster Quest a diver was attacked by one, and had he been in normal diving gear wouldnt be alive

My father and I went on a humboldt squid dive trip with Scott Cassell. He actually calls the armor stormtrooper armor and he got the idea from star wars. He made the armor himself but now he uses shark chain suits because their much more comfortable and accessable

Two different species. Giant squid live at deeper depths and generally don't hunt at the surface. Humboldts stay deep during the day and hunt the surface water at night.

first off no man has ever swam with a giant squid, second off a giant is way bigger about 43 -36ft long, third humbolt squid are about 6ft long and lastly humbolt squid have attacked numerous people and they got the holes to prove it

Just so everyone knows, we never said it was a giant squid, if you look at the title it says "Giant humboldt Squid" the Humboldt Squid can range in size from less than 1 foot to over 30 feet (recently witnessed by our divers). Anything in the 5-8 foot range over 300Lbs is usually catagorized as a giant humboldt incomparison to its much smaller relatives in the himboldt squid family. --  Jason Perr (Producer)

@trezero you sure it was a Humboldt and not an Architeuthis aka Giant Squid? i did see that episode of Monster Quest where they captured video footage of an enormously huge squid about 1500 feet down by hooking a camera to a Humboldt Squid, if your referring to that brief captured video of that massive squid, they never did actually ID it, it coulda been Architeuthis, it coulda been their suspected Giant Humboldt, im certain its not a Colossal Squid, it wasnt fat enough, but it was BIG!
