This is funny: the descriprion says Shirley Temple, the poster shows Elsbeth Sigmund but the one actually potraying Heidi in this movie is Jennifer Edwards ^o^ Oh what the hell.. I grew up with this movie and eventhough it really does not follow the book closely I still like it a lot! :D

bad! judging it from heidy from johanna spyri the story has been changed just to fit into shirley temples image... first they didnt read the story?: heidys granpa is not aunt detes father, heidis grandfather is father of her dad who was married to adelaid (mother) who is sister of dete!!second madame rotemmayer is not evil but she hates animals and doesnt like heidy she thinks she is savage! and its ridiculous that rotemayer and mr. sesseman made a couple! why?you thought the story was borring?

this version is not what it says in the real story of Heidi. Heidi was taken up by the aunti not the village man. and she met peter the next day not the first day . who ever directed this movie is very blind to the real heide of 1937. anyway thanks for sharing

Thank you very much ampopfilms for posting Heidi. I have such fond memories of Heidi. When my sons were young I would read Heidi to them. I adored the story of Heidi written in 1880 by Johanna Heusser Spyri. I never saw this 1968 movie version before. It was very lovely. I enjoyed that there were no characters really that were evil. I absolutely fell in love with Heidi starring sweet young Shirley Temple. The love she had with her grandfather made me weep. This movie shows the power of love!

This is not Elizabeth Sigmund! The name of the actress is Jennifer Edwards. She acts Heidi!

This movie was made in the year 1968 and not 1952! The one of 1952 is a Swiz production with the German actress Sigmund. It´s in black and white.

But this one here is a American production. Everybody can see, that the people in this movie talk in English.

It is almost not based on the books of Heidi. They changed the complete story for the film.

Didn't really like what they did with the story, essentially turning it into a romance between Sesemann and a pkeasant, charming Rottenmeier, changing key elements of the backstory, leaving important characters out, and for me totally ruining the essential tension of Heidi's sense of loss in Frankfurt. Her bright-eyed curiosity and sense of wonder was gone, as well as the development of the closeness between her and Alm Uncle. She was too old. Still, pleasant enough, thanks for uploading.

I may only be 23, but this version was the one I grew up on and will always be my favorite.
