  • scud is the best iv'e got the whole 24 books/comics

  • oh yeah!!!!!! the life of a ilustrator!!!!!

  • Wow... that's hard work and dedication... I couldn't pencil and ink a page while there were friends and people in the house besides my wife. A lot of times I can't do it when she's here, it's too distracting. I have to wait until she's asleep or something.

  • totally awesome. I'm a young handycap adult and I draw comics! I'm working on one now called The Great Volcanogus.. Please do not take my idea thanks.. Ill post it on youtube soon ^_^

  • Fuck yeah... System at 2:43

  • i love making comics and yours rock

  • looks very high quality, might just, u know look into it a bit more, check out the comics, have a read...

  • YES!!! bring on the Scud! I'm looking forward to the death of Jeff, and a fitting conclusion to one of my favorite ever comic stories.

  • French translation now.

  • Fantastic, i'm an artist too and i can tell you that being a creative artist, wheter if it's in cartoon style or any other form of art, it's difficult and it's a big job and for thoses who think this guy is lazy or doesn't do nothing in life then your wrong, while most peoples works from 9 to 5 on a regular job, this guy create something UNIQUE.

  • this is life man...

  • Every work is the future.

  • Amazing job!

People who says "get a life" don't have life.

  • Wow

  • Thank you for showing us that ther is talent in the world ^_^

  • Holy Triple post tubeman!!

  • Nice work Rob. Now to the morons with these stupid ass remarks like, "Get a life" and "Stop the speed up and piss off." First, as professional artists we draw every damn day. That is how we make a living. Just like bankers and plumbers, we get up and put in our 8-12 hours. People need to realize that doing art for a living is a real freaking job. Before you flap your gums learn a little about what your commenting about.

  • I second you on that! It is probably easier for the bad remark makers that think they have a life flipping their hamburgers and working at their carwash jobs. This is an awesome post. Rob is like totally talented!

  • service with a smile!

  • Take some time and service your wife.

  • Totally awesome video!! I need to find a place that sells a light desk like the one he has at home. Anybody know any good links?

  • check google dot com.

  • i made a comic book in 7th grade...and i definitely didnt draw nonstop like tht..hes definitely a beast!.lol to be able to do that..wow

makes me feel like i cant draw worth crap..his free hand is retarded! man! im bout to strt drawin right now..lol im inspired!

  • OMG?

  • And become a vegatble like the rest, this is way more stimulating, inventive, original thought "Hey what a concept" Now go back to your TV. or why not YOU TUBE you'll learn more & be of value. Make the change its fun.

Back away from the TV. Google Mind control,

  • and now we know how long it takes to finish something like that. i would of turned into a crackhead

  • my buddy and i used to play the sega saturn Scud game all the time. I think he's a really cool character, i will keep an eye out for this

  • woah...i would of got a headache from that....

  • boaring

  • Whoa

  • damn...

The endurance you show is so impressive. The constant drawing 0o I wish I could keep something like that up (so I could at least get 2 pages done of something a week.. which, obviously, i do not)

    awe

  • Cant to buy it at Comic Con 08!! And sorry about your game sucking! But its good to see you continuing(?) with the series.

  • Ah, so you use the little layed out crosshatch slips for shading as well heh? Can't wait!

  • DO IT YEAH YEAH YEAH

  • This is amazing that there is still a market to pay (whatever the low income is) - for this quality of workmanship... With the Internet a giant xerox machine - almost anything digital is hardly worth making in quality because its going to get copied to whatever the demand of the viewer is....

  • he kisses a guy on 2:17......i think. correct me if im wrong,

  • I think it's a girl with a shaved head.

  • I think so too....

  • It's Kate Freund with her hair pulled back.

  • I can't tell, either...

  • you draw really well

and at the speed of light too

    not just saying this

because i am bald like you

    thanks

  • workaholic man

    very nice

  • I traded some books with you back in... oh, must have been 96! :) San Diego or Chicago... can't recall. Reckon it was Chicago.

  • watch 2:17 guys.....wow.........

  • Whats so cool about 2:17? she gave him a kiss whats so wow about that?

  • Maybe he doesn't think comic creators have wives or girlfriends?

  • No, guys, he's referring to the tray full of gangha and coke she's handing him along with an "enjoy-it" kiss... open your eyes.

  • good

  • jajaja trash...

  • wow, i wish i had the time and patience to draw that much. cool

  • nice

  • wooow.. notable!!

  • I completely loved this series and its spin offs. Great that he's back in black and white!

  • Dude there was only one issue made. . .Are you retarded or something?

  • You must be the retarded one. SCUD ran for 19 issues, and I have those issues as well as three of the collections. Then there was the Drywall spinoff, and La Cosa Robot the miniseries. Apparently, your intellect doesn't recognize comics published more than ten years ago, asswipe?

  • Sorry Rob. Greatjob on SCUD. It was a blast to test, and when we were done the team got to "Free play" SCUD for two days. Great fun to see a bunch of guys laughing and carryin on. My SCEA comments stemmed from mMY experiences there, then my eldest daughter's tribulations. We are NOT SCEA fans. SCUD, YES! Go Rob!!

  • awesome

  • Anybody wants to know the song, it's Alpha Beta Gaga from Air's album: Talkie Walkie. Everybody should buy that album. Also, I recommend the group, Goldfrapp.

  • Such is the singularity of Scud that my only contact with it was from a full page art ad for the videogame and yet I remember it clearly to this day. I've enjoyed your work on Channel 101 and will enjoy the new issues when they come out.

  • Who are you? You are amazing... I just stumbled across this video.

  • Rob Shrab, creator of the comic SCUD. Look it up on wikipedia.

  • But first, look up Rob Schrab.

  • Scud's the shit, I've been waiting to see it on the big screen. Check out Ripfest.

  • I worked on the Scud Game for the SEGA Saturn. It was an interesting idea. The game was entertaining. SEGA Saturn R.I.P. If you don't support your hardware get out of the Game industry. Sega "almost" did. They are on their way back. Ignore them. Although they are better than SONY. SCEA is rife with sexual harrassment, nepotism, and just plain cruel and inhuman Morons. They should be boycotted, SCEA is the epitome of what a rotten company should be. Scud was a great idea for a fun comic.

  • Thank...you?

  • thats a crazy reply

  • wow i remember playing scud on sega saturn i think it was as a kid....

  • I love time lapsed video, and this one was especially entertaining. Very talented, I'll check out the comic.

  • WOW!!!

  • heh.. talent... something i dont have

  • I can't say for sure from the minor video resolution, but it looks like the art is better than ever.

  • Hhaa, I love how people were watching TV as the artist was still drawing. The process of the pages were fun to watch!

  • Good idea

  • I think you meant to say you ve made, not you make

  • he's damn crazy :D

  • cool song

  • Looks good.

  • I still have my SCUD poster hanging. I called you in 1995 to ask for advise on printing. you were quite helpfull. Can't wait to see the end of the saga.

  • sounds like an interesting comic

  • WICKED COOL Bruv!

  • ok, you mind slowing that down so I can see how you did everything xD

you've very good at making comics, it takes me a long time to put together a page.

how long does it take you?

  • 8-12 hours a page for pencils, inks and dots. The final book is 109 pages so it took about 1,308 hours to do. Yipes.

  • that's amazing.

    great job!

  • Excellent work, man :D

  • u r amazing .. working all the day and night .. nice job !

  • You are really great, Rob.

    Also, this video is awesome.

    And Scud is awesome.

  • your wife is hot!

  • yeah!!!

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG.......

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!! Bout friggin' time!!!!!!!!!! Where do i get it?!? AUUGHHHH!!!! Asti spumanti, bebee!!

  • Damn...the bots really hit this vid hard. Why, out of curiosity, do they try and link the blurb to the video when there is clearly hardly any chance that they will be remotely related. For that matter, why try for the human touch at all- we all know that they're automatic anyways.

  • *smiles*

  • Good work.

  • interesting

  • lol.. xO

  • 10 years ago, I was 15.

I still own every issue - just recently reread.

    Thank you for your brains.

    I am the Calvinator.

  • I definetly need to get around to reading scud.

  • Robot, your country needs you!!!

Fantastic to see you busy! I look forward to reading SCUD in it's entirely next year. Any plans to put Robot Bastard's head back on for more adventures?

  • wow you busy everyday!

  • END OF LINE

    Yeah!!! TRON is awesome.

  • Humm so yeah neat graphics... maybe good content and it took a long time, is this good enought reason to make a video about it? Can I get my view back?

  • he needs 2 get laid

  • great video thanks alot!!

  • Why is it in fast mode? it makes it look more fake i think.

  • Hey Man! It's great!

  • Hey your from Milwaukee ain't ya I remember seeing your comic in CBG like 10 years ago :o

  • dame! thats allot of love he pot into his work

  • I've been a fan of Scud's since 1997. I can't wait for the new comic to come out!

  • Is there something significant about the fact that so many young people are escaping into the comic book world? I believe it's more than just to be entertained. I think it's about being puzzled and frightened about the real world and real life. I also believe that comics appeal mostly to males. What does that tell us?

  • The same could be said for the countless people addicted to drugs, alcohol, videogames, sex, or shopping. The fact that you see a correlation between comic books and male's frightened take on the world tells us less about males today and more about your own biases. Addiction is an issue that's been relevant for centuries.

  • Or...it could be something as simple as dirt cheap production, publishing and distribution costs, a leveler playing field for starting artists, and easy access to tons of stuff to "borrow" from.

  • I'm tired from watching, Phew!

  • Scud I finally found out what happened to you. I remember Scud very well.

  • fooking nice vlog. I like, man.

  • dang, wish I had that kind of patience.

  • that is fucking sick bro

  • cool!!!

  • thats what a true artist is. it has a dedication to his works. good job man!

  • Amazing, TALENTED core labour!!

people should pay 100's of dollars for it!

    Awesome Tron ending btw

  • thats socl

  • labor

  • interesting vid

  • wow must be kinda hard on his family with him drawing all day and his wife to take care of the kids\dinner\work. Hope this pays off for him.

  • fuck man ur style is sick

  • that's hot. At first I thought BOUGUS!

  • does anyone know what this song is?

  • "Alpha Beta Gaga" by Air... its some french band

  • Awesome artwork, looking forward to seeing the rest.

  • It's awesome watching the page take shape like that. I write, and the video really catches that feel when things are flowing.

  • Jesus Christ! Now that is some serious commitment to drawing!

  • der typ hats voll drauf

  • wow ok

  • what song is this

  • that was some awesome drawling

  • I wish I could draw that fast....

  • whats the name of this song? and what artist is it?

  • i saw divossion in this man; he sat there with a purpose and finished his task while everyone around him moved about uselessly.

  • I'm SO thrilled to see this online! I love SCUD

  • u rock keep up the good work!
