And not just that...gasoline engines will never be taken over, because it's more efficient to run large planes on internal combustion engines. Small planes yeah sure electric is better and easier to maintain. You ever see a full size aircraft with electric motors?? You never will. Electric has a limit....Internal combustion doesn't.
@bruiserhzj I wouldnt say that. Electric engines are more efficient when your talking about .50s and lower planes. yes gas can fly full scale planes but you cannot fly a park size gas aircraft 100mph+ and futher more you can find a gas plane that his 100mph for under 100bucks for larger aircraft. And electric engines are increasing in size everyday you might find yourself proven wrong some time in the future
No electric model can ever do what these babies can do. I have a 160cc edge 540 and there is nothing in the world that can give me a better flyng experience.
Dude needs to be using clean electric instead of the old-skool dirty gas engines. I get it that a lot of the older guys can't seem to let go of their beloved nitro and glow engines, but those environmentally-damaging dinosaurs are, thankfully, being overtaken by clean electric power.
@erkq Dumbass, read the title of the video. It clearly says "103" Giant Scale Yak-54 100cc NITRO Gas 3D plane Review." Regardless, I was referring to the difference between any fuel-powered engine vs. clean electric motors. Next time try to think before typing something so stupid.
@lisarenee3505 Gee... sorry. BTW, I'm a huge electric fan. Electric is what has brought me back into the hobby. But, "dumbass"? Really?? Name-calling? It's really not THAT important to you, is it?
@lisarenee3505 you don't know what you're talking about. People keep saying electric is "clean power". Did you know that every time you recharge your big heavy brick-like lipos it takes big coal burning power plants to supply you with that power?? Actually gasoline is much cleaner than electric. AND more efficient especially with planes this size or bigger. Going electric in a plane this big makes it much heavier from huge batteries and they don't last half as long as a tank of gas.
@bruiserhzj Gasoline is not replenishable and only a few cities are powered by coal burning power plants you moron. Alot of cities are powered by nuclear, hydroelectric, ect...
@hotblume you just proved your intellect by starting abuse over a simple argument. I made valid points and you had to get all upset and start calling me a moron. There's no need for name calling mate. And i already mentioned that smaller planes are better off with electric setups.you obviously don't pay much attention. And i just bought a multiplex funjet for your info. I'm not against electric, just stating facts that you can't handle. So go away!!!
I have an Extreme Flight 48 RC 3D plane that flys nice. AJ Slick has some nice planes at 3DHS. This guy did not say he was in love with this plane. I guess it is an honest review. Which I like.
@RCFLIGHTHELP Nitroplanes sells the Yak fitting price/quality fliers. At $400 I think it is a good price for a sport/beginner IMAC flier. Anyone more serious about IMAC or 3D needs to consider spending two to three times as much for a Carden, Extreme Flight, or Aeroworks to get the performance they want.
Dan is a excellent 3-D flier. I've known him for over 30 years and he is probably the best of 3-D flier that flies regularly from the Whittier Narrows Field. I fly mainly scale, EDFs, gliders, and sport planes. We have flown gliders together looking for thermals. Because of work, I arrived late and missed his flight, but chatted afterwards. Knowing how he normally flies (higher speed snaps, spins, and walls), he did fly it on the conservative side.
I've seen Dan fly in person. He's the best flyer I've seen on that field, followed by Roland (only because I saw him crash his EDF a few weeks back LOL). Anyway, Dan is a better pilot than how that video portrayed him
With a person inside an airplane can't do a lot of maneuvers we do with models. the G forces would kill a human. Also its easier to make a model's structure to handle the G forces than a larger aircraft.
@kary1982v6 The hardest thing he did was a Rolling Harrier. The rest is just basic acrobatics and stalled turns. Nothing too write home about. Tho the Plane is awesome, its good to see Nitroplanes actually doing a Nitro review :p

Sounds like he prefers other 3D planes to this model. If I was in the market for this kind of plane I would look at other manufactures.

@photobart1
I agree ... If you really want a good 3D plane look at other brands .....
Check out 3DHS, Extreme Flight, or Aeroworks.

Dan is a Very Impressive pilot. He just toned down his flying for this review since he didn't want to crash it and it was only the second flight
