Awesome amv, I agree with the opinion stated about the manga, I find the anime to be a much more enjoyable story, I like the shots of the HiME regaining what they lost after having suffered so much (Akane in particular, and the look on Nao's face makes me feel warm and fuzzy).
Also am I the only one who got choked up when Kagutsuchi dissapeared?
I have said this before to Makers of AMV's about this show but. Have you read the Manga for Mai Hime? The plot is almost completely different. Same characters but their relationships and interactions are different due to the different plot. I was confused as hell when I watched the anime (I read the manga first before I realized that the anime was different). It's worth a read though

Well, I certainly feel the need to reply: the powers of the HiME are tied into her feelings for her most important person. If that person is gone, the HiME's powers go with it. However, facing each other, the HiME only target one another or the Childs (yes, I know the plural can be a tad "confusing"), which is why this is never truly demonstrated, but even before the ties were confirmed, it was evidenced that Mai should've lost her power when Takumi died, but her feelings had already changed.
It doesn't say in the anime who her important person is, and her "child" (or whatever you call the big bird like thing, I kinda forgot the name of it) never dies; so we never get to see who her "important person" really is. It could be argued that Tate or her little brother is her important person you never know, even though they both died in the anime, it never says that the "child" will disappear if their important person dies before the child does.
@hate2sayit : The anime did asume that killing of a MIP would prevent a child from being summoned. Mai claims she can still summon her's because she still has the memories and feelings of her MIP.
I wonder what would've happened if Mai's Child had been killed here. Would those feelings and memories 'die'? Or would Mikoto have died? And who was Mikoto's MIP? Mai or the villain? If the villain had gotten Mikoto to kill Mai, would it result in Mai->Kagutski->Mikoto->Mik's Child->villain all dying?
If you're referring to her 'most important person', it's actually Mikoto, interestingly enough. (Personally, I want to see fanfic and vid works for Mai x Natsuki, but alas...)
I don't know if you did this on purpose or if I was hearing things, but when Haruka showed up in the video, the song lyrics were also saying "Haruka." I am not 100% sure about that, but it sure sounded like that to me!
Anyway, the entire feel of this song really matched the scenes in this one. Wonderful job. ^^
