I think Dave acually is singing often more softer than James (James screams almost, at least on the first few albums) while Dave (I could be wrong) tries to "sound" agressive and loud (but sings softly) in a more talking type of way, but it still sounds loud! At least, that's how I'm hearing it!

uhm i have to disagrre with you my friend metal was first heavy metal like SAbbath and Priest ect. then thrash came around however while thrash was getting its fame a small band was underground a band that would come to be the father of death metal that band my friend was known as.........DEATH they were around before thrash but wasnt originated from thrash metal nor was thrash metal originated from it they are brothers to the first metal band to ever rise BLACK SABBATH metal history 101
