uh ? this version is uglier and siplier than the european "decap attack" version, I'm sorry... this japanese port looks like a master system title... poor graphics
.........the hell is this the same game as Decap Attack? Now I see the reason why I couldnt figure out the name of this game for FIFTEEN YEARS: it was remade into some stupid horro game called Decap Attack.
@nljuggalo You're kidding me, right? "Decap Attack" is a rip off from MHNBTD for the Western market. How can it be better? Here's how they "crippled" the original game:
- Altered grafics to "ooky" (became rather ugly though)
- Replaced the music
- Reduced level size
- Removed "Bonus Slot machine" (sub levels)
- Removed two POW's
- Altered "Life system" (up to 6 tries instead of 2)
- Altered "Flagstick Bonus" (tries instead of lifes)
@xxXKT182Xxx get yourself a megadrive/genesis emulator (google it, its easy to find), then get the game from one of the many rom sites on the web ..don't worry getting it all up and running isn't as hard as it may seem
Wow this game looks so much better than decap attack.. More colors, better level design, better animation, the main character has more personality and the game just looks better overall!
You're right OP, even though this was virtually the same game as DA and PF this version had the edge it terms of originality and presentation. I brought a chipped Japanese MD from Titles way back in the day, so I was able to play this version. Brings back some great memories, thanks for posting.
@nookie077 Wow haven't heard the name "Titles" for a long time, if you're referring to the video shop, can't believe they used to rent out stuff like this at video shops, wow. Looking forward to playing this one day, love Decap Attack :P
@atombat You're right. I did mean "Titles" the video rental shop - but they weren't renting the Jap Megadrives...they were selling! them - for about £99 if I remember correctly. Official ones at the time where going for about £130, so it wasn't a bad saving, which made my mom happy, lol. And as I said before, I could play all! game regions.
Yeah, I spent many hours playing Psycho Fox when I was a kid. Perfect level of difficulty for a game. Not too tough, not too easy. One of the first game I cleared by myself. Found Decap Attack later but didn't like it as much. Bought a copy of Magical Hat recently and love it. Even my girlfriend loves playing it!
Hmmm while this makes sense, still like Decap Attack better. Music in the western version is way better if nothing else.

A truly sad attempt IMO!

@Souldiver66 The game was too cliche. Glad they changed it.

@Souldiver66 Are you really so incredulous to the idea that someone could have a different opinion than you? Sheesh.

I do not know why the hell everyone likes THIS GAME BETTER than DecapAttack!
It has MANGA AND ANIME CHARACTERS instead of cartoon characters
and the music is HIGHER IN PITCH than Decapattack.
That is why I hate it.

Decap Attack seems cheap and tawdry compared to this. They made it grubby.

I used to own this back in the 90's. Wish I hadn't sold it. Anyone know of any sites you can download the rom from?

Cheers for the reply. I was able to find a copy not long after I posted that comment - took a LOT of searching though.
