There's a great amount of symbolism about their positions and posture when they get on the escalator. George is the only one wary of the future, Paul is contemplative and enjoying fame, John is relaxed and mentally drifting (and using his posture from Sgt. Pepper's insert), and Ringo is along for the ride, while being the only one noticing the change.
