The Russians are known to have used scandium in MiG aircraft (so I've heard).

Scandium will most likely be one of the more interesting elements to research in the time to come. One of the reasons is the recent findings in the Hessdalen Light Phenomenon. They've found out which chemicals make up the light phenomenon, and Scandium is likely to be the ignition mechanism. The light phenomenon is as far as I've read a highly energetic reaction, and by closer studies we could come across a new, clean and highly energetic source of energy ;) Scandinavia for the win!
