@WJFuntingworthIII Actually, he's been in all except Dead Man's Chest. The character's name is Theodore Grove, who made his last appearance in On Stranger Tides and the actor's name is Greg Ellis.
Back in Britains glory days, the brilliant East India Trading Co. was one of our fantastic achievements, along with almost world dommination. Lost to Liberalism and scumbags.
What got me was that there were alot of cannon fire there reload time must be incredible, best crew ever on both ships to get that many fire offs in that amount of time.
@MrNeversaynever because we realised a long time ago that it isn't worth fearing something that doesn't exist. Thus we conquered the biggest empire in history.
1st time I have been on in 2 months, so my next answer is to an old question. The reason why the crew didn't take command of the Endeavor was because if they had succeed in winning the fight, they could have been tried and hanged for mutiny (for not following orders)
@LordSandvichman In the 1800's and earlier, it was not unusual for the flag ships of two fleets to battle solo. Some naval battles were simple battle between commands.
Ever since I saw this movie, I have to wonder why in gods name the rest of the East India Trading Company didn't do anything... I mean, I get that their leader just got killed, but they have a WHOLE FLEET OF SHIPS!
Remember the movies: the men of the EITC were always expected to obey Beckett´s orders, not to act or react without an order. Mercer was the only one, who had a certain level of independence for his missions.
When Beckett was no longer able to command, even the commissioned officers were not able to replace him. Actually, the EITC had no command-, but an obedience-structure. With Beckett as commander the company ruled the oceans, without him - nothing.
The black pearl was already heavily damaged by the fight with the Flying Dutchman. And will's ship would be gutted by the what? 122 cannons? Beckett would have easily won.
@mojeda117 yeah but even if they sink the Black Pearl they still have to deal with the Flying Dutchman, which as we and the British navy knows, is MAGICAL INVINCIBLE ship so they did the most sensible thing and just high tail it out of their instead of fighting a lost cause.
Guys we all have to realize that this...is a movie. A Disney movie. Any sense of logic or realism is sacrificed for the awe of complete destruction.
Also...This is Disney's most expensive movie to date. 300 million dollars. By filming another fight scene would jack up the price. Not to mention the fact that the movie was already 2 and a half hours in by the time this scene came around. Really long movie.
I agree though, Endeavour would have won. And it would have been a badass fight scene.
the HMS Endeavour is in my opinion let say 99 % like HMS Victory wich is my favorite ship in Empire total War they have much firepower and then can fight with lots of enemy ships so in the end my coment is this i m not a english but British Navy was f...king good and a real power in the open seas..... respect for the British Navy
I guess how the fuck 2 32 gunned ships can sink a 122 cannon ship with only a round each ship, and why the fuck doesn't beckett shoot, he would have sinked both ships with only 1, 2, 3 at maximum rounds
Just to answer a few questions: 1) The HMS Endeavour looks like the HMS Victory because that is what it is designed after. 2) The Endeavour would have won if they had fired. (54 cannons to 16 on the right and 54 cannons to 26 on the left). 3) The Fleet in POTC is not The Royal Navy. It is the East India Trading Company's private war fleet 4) The Pearl's and The Dutchman's cannons would not have hit each other because if you look closely, you'll notice that they are angled upward
I dont understand... the endeavour has so many fucking cannons.. if they tried they probably could've fucking blown both of those ships to kingdom come
@superjopower19 He didn't lose his mind. He was admitting he was defeated. After all, he wanted the Dutchman to work for him, but now that it has a new captain, it no longer belongs to Beckett. He always considered the Pirates scum, but he realised they were stronger than he thought. He knows he is defeated and the captain sinks with it's ship. He had honor. It was "A Good Business".
thats what i said, these ships are built to fight to the death against other ships equally as powerful. often taking horrendous damage but still coming home and it would of seriously damaged and or sunk both of them and beckett would know that. as soon as becket didnt respond someone else would of took over like how calamy did for hollom in master and commander. i had a hard time taking this ending seriously especially when the armada took off. pfft.
@ZippyMrMw even if Lord Cutler Beckett hadnt gone in to shock and had the scens to fire back the endavour would have been to badly hit to make it home and she would have sunk any way
Had he said, er, 'fire' or if the story was written by someone who I dunno, gave a s*** about believable characters, even one of the lieutenants would've said , FIRE.
The Endeavour would've blown them both out of the water.
Poor ending, but Gotta admire the cinematic scene where he walks down the stairs as the ship blows to pieces.
@50033836 Well, yes killing all the heroes would have ruined more than that scene XD. Too bad the luitenant didnt grab him and toss him overboard but that would have been sort of lame
so how come the Flying Dutchman and Black Pearl received no damage at all, you would think they would have accidentally hit each other a few times, or the Endeavor may have fired back some.
1. The reason they didnt hit each other is because that would be pretty hard if there was a huge ship between them

@AJongeling No, but all Turner's crew would have to do is just ignore the flurry of bullets and whatnot flying in their faces and slit everyone's throats and continue to blow everything up. Thus the end of Beckett and his crew. XD
