firstly very good vidoe many thnx for that can you kindly tell me what the diffrence between the broadway and tv extend is? huppage have something called tv extend which i think if you have a external/internal tv card in your pc you can stream the tv to your pc/mac/ipad etc through the internet?
@yos9636 The Broadway is a standalone box and doesn't require the use of a computer to stream video. TV Extend requires a tuner card and software actively running on a computer. There's no additional mobile device software to purchase for either of these products unlike the Slingbox.
I did pass all this on to the Hauppauge tech support folks. Hopefully they will issue an update because it seems like it would be a minor fix. I can also say that the picture looks really great on the touchpad. Better than I connect using Android on the TP (CM 7) or via my ipad.
5- back on the settings page, the flash speed drop down menu are now functional, and you should be able to switch to the live TV page
This works for me pretty much 100% of the time when I am on my local network, maybe 80% of the time when on an outside network with decent internet connections, and maybe like 20% of the time when I connect via tethering to my Pre 3,
This also works with my Pre 3 and Veer, but the success rates are lower.
Just an update. First, many thanks to noyzmakr who has been helping me offline. For some reason, I am finding it much harder to connect to my Broadway. The following sequence seems to work best:
Hello. Thank you for posting this. I did go ahead and get one of these. It seems to work fine on the local network, but I have trouble when accessing it over the internet. The page just seems to keep refreshing. I have tried clear cache and cookies to no avail. Any tips?
@judsonc1 When connecting via the internet make sure you're plugging in your WAN IP address + Broadway's URL instead of distan.tv. If you're still having trouble, clear cache/cookies, go directly to the settings page first, then switch over to LiveTV. It sometimes may take a couple attempts but it works just fine.
@noyzmakr Not having any luck. I can get it to work by starting the stream connected to my home network, the connecting the TP to an external network. (you are right, the quality is great!). But I cannot get it to work without going through this process first.
I have port forwarding on correctly, as it works when I used my computer from work today. (also read you need to forward 65001, but I do not think you need to.)
@judsonc1 Send me a pm with your IP and a temporary login and I'll see if I can get it to work. I'm using a Netgear Prosecure UTM5...no port forwarding required for 65001.
@noyzmakr Thanks! PM sent. Couple things: I did update webos to 3.0.4 today on the TP, You might also notice I am running a newer version of the Broadway firmware. They have different versions on their FTP site and I have tried them all.
For testing, I was using my AT&T Pre 3 as a hot spot, and that could be an issue. Also, I am using dynamic DNS rather than my ip address in the URL.
Thanks for your help! I hope they keep the updates coming, the Broadway is a nice device!
this is great news since I use sling on my htc evo 3d and now have an hp touchpad via the firesale. Question...have you used it outside of your home network and if so, how is the quality?

1- point your touchpad directly to the settings page of the broadway: h ttp://(ip address)/TVC/ui/Settings.html
2- enter your PIn, get directed to the settings page
3- clear cache and cookies, and refresh page This brings you back to the enter PIN page.
4- Clear cache/cookies again, press enter

What kind of router are you running?
Thank you!!!

@Mickeywdw1254 From a remote wifi location the quality was awesome. It also works great with my WebOS phone over a 3G connection.
