But Hamilton was a rookie, people have made an issue of his lack of set up exp, but going back to his F3000 season in Keke Rosbergs team, they had a newly designed car in a series they had never raced in. The car was a total dog, yet the following season Hamilton totally dominated. Much of the set up and development was down to Hamilton, and that skill is evident with current development.

As for losing support after Hungaroring, well Ron later acknowledged that Lewis disobeyed orders, so Lewis was in the wrong in Hungary.

Ok lol, yeah Alonso is probably the best driver on the grid in terms of car setup, and strategy also. But Hamilton was a rookie, people have made an issue of his lack of set up exp, but going back to his F3000 season in Keke Rosbergs team, they had a newly designed car in a series they had never raced in. The car was a total dog, yet the following season Hamilton totally dominated. Much of the set up and development was down to Hamilton, and that skill is evident with current development.

Yeah m8 i know what ur saying, and i agree with u. Alonso is the most complete driver on the grid, and the way he makes his own strategy calls is fantastic, although towards the end of last season the Renault was a good car.
This season they are both driving uncompetitive cars, and both are driving way beyond their cars capabilities.

Lol.... how did Alonso make the 2007 car? In 2006 he was with Renault, and Hamilton was racing in GP2. When they both tested for Mclaren in 2006, Hamilton was the quicker driver. And thru winter testing Hamiton was also more often than not the quicker of the 2 drivers. Alonso is a great driver, but he had no part to play in designing the MP4-22

When both drivers were testing for Mclaren in 2006, Hamilton was the quicker driver and he remained so through much of winter testing. As for Alonso "nearly beating" Hamilton in USA, all I can say to that is LOL. During 2007 they had equal machinery, yet Hamilton out quali'd Alonso, out raced Alonso, out smarted Alonso and beat Alonso in the drivers standings.

And you can't blame the team for Shanghai, sure they could've brought him in earlier, but Lewis shouldn't have gone steaming into the pits like he did when his tyres were that far gone, so thats his own fault. And it was proved Alonso had strange tyre pressures etc at a number of races. As for losing support after Hungaroring, well Ron later acknowledged that Lewis disobeyed orders, so Lewis was in the wrong in Hungary.

@JH4492 Don't be so naive, Mclaren ignored 5 warnings from Bridgestone that Hamiltons tyres were critical, yet they told him to stay out. Hamilton had no idea his tyres were down to the canvas, and he wasn't even carrying much speed into the pits.
Disobeying a team order IS NOT a breach of FIA rules, but a deliberate impede of a competitor is, and it shows a complete lack of racing ethics. Lewis was leading the championship at Hungary, so why should he give preference to Alonso?

@JH4492 Simple, they were waiting for the weather to change, if I remember correctly there was more rain forecast but teams weren't sure whether to put inters or dry tyres on, so they gambled on keeping Hamilton out until the very last minute, which ultimately turned out to be an idiotic decision.
Alonso knew exactly how much time he had, he knew exactly how long his outlap would have taken, and he knew what he was doing. The excuse he gave for waiting was proved to be false by FIA telemetry.
