  • They were holding back 0_o. Those are still some stiff shots they got on each other. Damn Joe Lewis hits hard.

I can see why they went with this decision, both got in good shots and both got in some bad ones.

  • Better than these two, i guess....'Benny jet'. Well., I doubt people here knows whom i'm talking about.

  • I wish someone shows up with kamehaha move ..oh wait that's a cartoon..my bad..

  • I got to train with both bill and lewis they are such good fighters and i really enjoyed learning from them, go team acmac :-)

  • Wallace was a god

  • DId you know you can with a shoe on in savate?

  • Dennis Alexio.Kick Boxer

  • @TboneNYC10 Until he got mangled by Tong Po lol

  • Two of the all time greats. Best wishes to Joe Lewis who is battling brain cancer.

  • holy shit 33 pound difference lol, mad respect for wallace.

  • Isn't Bill Wallace the one who found John Belushi dead? Seems like I remember something like that.

  • hey guys i met bill wallace yesterday morning guys! He turns out to be a very funny man and his knee hurts. He is REALLY good at fighting guys. Trust me. LOL . A lot of taekwondo students including me, trained with master bill wallace for three hours!!! LOL :)

  • It's so great to see Bill Wallace having such a good time, you can tell he's doing what he loves and was so happy to be back in the ring! Awesome fight, I so wish I could kick like him!

  • "No kissing and huging here. that's all you see today in UFC, MMA is a little better but still alot of kissing and hugging"

    ..

    *holds head in hands.*

Aaaaaaaaaaanyway, Good to see this footage on YT

  • Lewis was put on his fb page he has brain cancer and only has a few weeks left.. keep him in your prayers

  • Please remember, everybody, that this was an EXHIBITION bout. Lewis was a heavyweight and Wallace a middleweight. They aren't trying to knock one each out, just to give the audience a decent show.

  • what dam year was this in,,was it back from pre history fighting,,,the old super foot Wallace had best kick as i remember I was a kid. Joe Lewis was also tops at one time but it looks as if they both as well past their prime and what is this kick boxing?

  • Joe lewis and Bill Wallace trained with Robert Trias.

  • They look great at 48 years old. Not many guys at that age could do 3 rounds of "light" sparring.

  • Jeezzzz wallases right leg kick is out standing. I was rooting for lewis the whole time tho. Anyone seen the joe lewis fist in detroit? Its a really cool statue.

  • Funny how even today all these fights are so fixed and for the show. May as well be wwf. When he says put on a show,,, well there you go todays sports is all for the money and they know who is going to win before they walk in the ring or field.. DDDDDD

  • @KidsKicksforChrist How could you say that it is fixed. I don't believe that it is fixed at all. This was just an exhibition to show that the older athletes can still compete. These two guys are stand up guys and I do believe that Joe Lewis is a Christian. By the way it is the WWE know the WWF is the wildlife thing and they sued the WWE for using it, so they had to change their initials. Anyways the WWE is predetermined and mostly acting. This they really hit each other.

  • Funny how even today all these fights are so fixed and for the show. May as well be wwf. When he says put on a show,,, well there you go todays sports is all for the money and they know who is going to win before they walk in the ring or feild.. DDDDDD

  • cool fight,i remember Dennis Alexio was in Kickboxer with Van Damme awesome.

  • No kissing and huging here. that's all you see today in UFC, MMA is a little better but still alot of kissing and hugging,, what they call Jujitsu, I say stand up and fight like the old days

  • @KidsKicksforChrist Wrestling is older then Boxing my friend. Wrestling can be traced back to the Cavemen that lived 15000 yrs ago, while Boxing is only about 5000 years old. They probably only started striking cause some whiner said "thats not fair" Heck Wrestling is so old its even mentioned in the Bible. If its good enough for Gods soldiers(Angels) its good enough for me.

  • @KidsKicksforChrist watch K-1 then..

  • Yyyyyyeeeeeeeeah, those were the days!1 Much respect for two super tough legends!

  • I think they said Wallace is 45 and Lewis is 46. Which is pretty amazing when you think about it

  • wallaxe won that hands down 'idolized him as a karateka growing up in the 80's

    great kicker double roundhouse king

  • What a classy fight. This shows the epitome of great sportsmanship.

  • wallace wins.head kicks scores more and he hit it in more than his adversarys punches

  • My trainer got to work out with Bill several times back in the 80's. I got to work out with Joe once. We all got together and got him to come as a guest at school. This guy has knuckles like golf balls. I heard that he trained with Bruce Lee years before. 20 years later now, watching this video brings back some good memories.

  • what amazed me about wallace is that even at his age, he still could get that kick off quick. far quicker then alot of people 20 years younger. for those who keep talking about how any mma fighter would just mop the floor with them. Remember both of these guys are legends. They became such by know how to WIN. smarts speed and experience beat youth and style anyday

  • People dont realize, win or lose in the ring, blah. These two men have lived a life of not fearing another human at all. Anyone their age has much respect for them. Anyone not their age, just wait! You're clueless as is to how big of a deal this match was.

  • Two great athletes and pioneers-a treat to see. Great refined fighting skills. I think anyone being in the ring with one of these guys would give them respect after the experience, win or lose, whether they be boxers, point fighters, whatever.

Wallace had a very tasty sparring/exhibition bout back in the 80s with Thomas Hearnes, landing good hook kicks on his head. Wallace was poetry in motion, & at one point was also State middleweight rated in pure boxing thanks to a deceptive left hook.

  • Bill Wallace and Joe lewis -so deadly , like Chuck Norris - NO matter how old that get - Do NOT think about challenging them.! They will find a way to get U! And hurt U badly! They are the last pioneers ! Truly Americans forever! Wallace has great humor! I hope I meet Norris and Wallace! Lewis I did meet.. Edmondo (etsonggallaxy)

  • I'm glad I'm not in the ring!

  • @ETsonggalaxy

They were great "karate fighters", but in the street they would be destroyed by an average mixed martial artist (ground and muay-thai). They are too old to compete in combats sports against the cream-of-the-crop. That's why they fought each other and not someone who was in their 20s. There's nothing wrong with two legends competing, but lets not pretend that aging doesn't affect them; it does.

  • for those of your guys who train in an MMA school only and have never had real martial arts training, just because you havent seen it in MMA doesnt mean it wouldnt work.

  • he's old but remarkable!

  • I wouldn't recommend Bill Wallace's fighting style in MMA or K-1.

  • @JeetKuneDoKa Neither would I..DIFFERENT RULES!!!! of course the style would be different..comon!

  • thanks for posting :)

  • Nice exhibition fight from two retired fighters. It was not a "real" match, but they both put spirit into it anyway.

  • These guys are fitter than I was when I was in my 20's!

  • Seen Joe yesterday at my son's karate place. Unbelievable, simply unbelievable!. Great guy, quite the character too. Great seminar.

  • I just made a movie of a Joe Lewis Seminar at Bruce Lee New York in Huntington. Check it out.

  • What has struck me about this is just how poor Lewis's foot work his,he does not know how to move his feet as he punches.

  • Damn Wallace is good

The fact that he can use a side stance effectively and is throwing all his kicks with one leg....... that says alot about him.

  • @Technocian that's why they called him super-foot, he only kicked with one leg. He couldn't use the other one because it was shot in Vietnam.

  • so much myth on Bruce lee!!!!!

    reality is different thing!!!

Bruce lee learnt from Joe lewis and vice verca

In MMA bruce could compte like others guys buti think he could beat Gracie with JJB peace!!!

  • when this took place?

  • '92-93

  • Outstanding! Thank's.

  • Wallace wins without doubt.

    But my respects to both.

Seeing this make remeber why started to do martial arts.

The MMA guys (Most of them) lack in respect and humility, besides another´s virtue pursued in the martial arts.

  • most of them dont lack respect. joe lewis failed to touch gloves in the beginning of this fight. there are certainly more egos in traditional martial arts than in mma because traditional martial arts people think they are unbeatable due to some secret deadly street leathal, no touch knock out nonsense or whatever. mma guys learn humility immediately. from experience every 5th dan, 10th dan or whatever dan i run into demands respect, demands to be called master, while mma guys earn respect.

  • I hear so many MMA fans refer to the fabled death touch when criticizing TMA but the truth is that very few TMArtists know Dimmak techniques or claim to. I'm an MMA fan and the fighters often show good sportmanship at the end of bouts but there are too many street punks and thugs in MMA. Look at BJ Penn licking blood off his gloves and claiming he's going to fight "TO THE DEATH". You call that a respectable Martial Artist? MMA fighters with a TMA background like GSP tend to be more respectful.

  • dont forget the machida brothers :D

  • @Johnf85 in my experience MMA has much more egoes... watch UFC... before a fight there's nothing but trash talking.

Also... these guys are good friends. Hey respect each other very well.

  • @Johnf85 Yeh thats actually well said! But you cant slate all Masters!

  • benny the jet whooped ass out the thai fighters .BACK THEN! wake up young man.

  • Urquidez never defeated any Thai boxers.

  • Benny has 2 NC's against thai fighters. He had a lot of success against Japanese kickboxers (k1 style). He was not good in the clinch.

  • Urquidez lost the 6 round decision to then the 5th rated (Lumpini) Prayout Sittiboonlert in Tokyo. Previously Urquidez fought Narongnoi Kiatbandit and this fight ended as a no-contest.

  • I thought Wallace won, damn, Wallace really was something with that front leg, fast as hell and very accurate with his kicks

  • I would like to thank Joe Lewis and Bill "Superfoot" Wallace for giving SO much back. I have met them both. Both are class acts. They are still doing seminars. Both are still going strong in their mid sixties, and both don't show any signs of slowing down. They are an inspiration to us all. I just wish we could repay them, but I don't think we ever can. Thank you.

  • @njtr good point I was just at a 2 hour seminar with him, he came all the way to west chester

  • How would Superfoot's side step style match up to today's muay thai guys?? I wonder.

  • muay thai fighters would break superfoots legs & elbow the shit outta em inside close. benny the jet & don the dragon wilson found that out real quick way back then.

  • At least some full-contact kickboxers from the US managed to win a couple bouts against the Thais. Those include Don Wilson, Dale Cook, and Manson Gibson. Yet none of them has ever claimed the superiority of their sport.

  • Great fight. That's a five star match.

  • i met MR. Bill Wallace, it was a true honor, i was boxing tournaments at the time along with my brother, me and my brother were up and comming boxers iam not trying to brag but we were on a great winning streak, and it was great to meet the superfoot bill wallace, my coach invited bill up here in canada, he used me and my brother for his demonstrations and wow hes strong and rough haha but it was cool, i havent talked to him an quite a wile, i geuss id better soon rock on bill.

  • man, the first time i got to meet bill wallace in person was about 6 years ago when he did a seminar at my dojo , and i was about 14, and i had no idea he was an undefeated champ! i thought he was just some cool old guy, i had no idea he was so big...i wish i took a picture with him...T-T....oh well, go wallace!

  • Hahaha, that's awesome. "Who is this funny old guy at my dojo? Bill who?"

  • thats a very interesting comment.i imagine you could write a book about all the wasted talent by students in the martial arts.its sad.but relationships are very hard.ive had a bunch...

  • its sad but true.joe is a nice fellow now.i had the honor to kind of hang out with him and the legendary massachusetts fighting lysaks walt jr. and charlie at last years arnold classic 3 2007 in columbus ohio.

i never could get the guts up to ask him anything about bruce lee.but walt told me joe said bruce was a phenomenal martial artist.he was lighting fast.he hit like a heavyweight.and trained so hard.ill never forget 7-20-1973...

  • That was too cool!!! kudos goes out to you two legends thank you for your contribution to the arts "INSPIRING"

  • Joe Lewis's corner is not John Graden, it's his brother Jim. FYI, Joe Lewis and Walt Bone were John Graden's instructors. Mark Graden is the other brother who's an excellent fighter as well.

  • Rick Spain from Aus, was actually better/faster with his kicks, used BOTH legs & decked Superfoot with a body shot.

  • bill wallace is god

  • benny the jet was as good as joe or bill...benny was a god...

  • Oh yeah, Benny the Jet was my favorite kickboxer. It would've been something to see him fight a Sugar Ray Leanard or Roberto Duran. And Bruce Lee, he had the timing and reflexes that nobody could equal, even today, and he could hit like a heavyweight. It was funny when Bob Wall, a middleweight karate champion, tried to stonewall a kick by Bruce (135 lbs) on the set of Enter The Dragon. They say Bruce sent him flying into a group of background stuntmen, one of which suffered a broken arm. Amazing

  • bob wall did say in black belt that no one hit harder than joe lewis. of course he had 70 pounds on bruce.

  • Yes, I can see your point. I have read articles about the power of Joe Lewis who did train under Bruce Lee's supervision. But you know, I think Lewis taught Bruce a few things, as well. Bruce, a renowned teacher, was always trying to pick up something new from other martial artists, which was an aspect of his greatness.

  • very true.both were teachable.we in tkd used to debate who would win.i still mourn bruces death.i was in tkd class 1973 when i heard the awful news.

  • I remember an article about how a former wife of Joe Lewis used to cut Bruce Lee's hair at his home. One day she returned to tell Joe that Bruce had made a pass at her. Joe was furious & showed up at Bruce's door to, as Lewis was quoted as saying, "...kick his ass!" Bruce denied it & called out to his wife to hear what was being said. No fight occurred, & Lewis later admitted that his wife at the time was abit of a nut case. An interesting story, for they almost did have a real fight, if true.

  • lewis was very immature at the time and his ex wife was a evil wench.bruce told him "joe tell linda what you just said to me".they were both looking at him with a puzzled expression and he was so ashamed he left.he never saw or spoke to bruce again.thus ended a great friendship because of a no good wicked bitch.amazing....

  • Okay, good, so you are quite familiar with the story, too. Man, you know your stuff, too. Let me tell you, from the many articles, books, etc. that I read about Bruce Lee, he really loved his wife, Linda, his son, Brandon, and Shannon. He liked to take them to the movie set when he was doing a movie. He was a moral man. Ha, Kareem Abdul Jabbar called him a renegade taoist priest! Yes, I can see Lewis backing down from that one.

  • man that was so awsome to know

thanks for sharing with us your stories of Bruce

  • You're most welcome, sir.

  • man that was so awsome to know

thanks for sharing with us your stories of Bruce Lee man

  • When I was a kid back in '73, Bruce Lee came along on the silver screen & made the likes of John Wayne & Clint Eastwood fall into the background. He was a god up there on the screen, & then I found out he had died. Unbelievable. The tragedy was he had died just before Enter The Dragon (his first western movie that launched him into stardom in America) was released. Kareem Abdul Jabbar spoke of how he thought Bruce Lee invincible, and his death made him pause & wonder about the meaning of life.

  • Chuck Norris was a Point Fighter, not a Full Contact fighter like Bill Wallace, Joe Lewis, Benny Urquidez, Jeff Gripper, Ray McCallum, Greg Wilkinson, Donny Hair, Kraiguar Smith, and many others.

You won't find any Chuck Norris Full Contact fights since he never had any.

  • How would Wallace or Lewis do against a Marvin Hagler or Tommy Hearns? I don't think they have the hands like those boxers do, which is most their most crucial weapon.

  • i love joe and bill but i think hagler and hearns would eat them up...im sad to say this

  • in a western boxing contest please let me add...if it went MMA i think bill and joe win.both are excellent grapplers...

  • Yes, I think you are quite right about if it went to MMA. Their grappling skills would negate the superior boxing ability of a Hagler or Hearns by closing in and taking him to the mat.

  • you really know your stuff mate...i dont see any mma fighters as better boxers than boxers.bruce lee who ive heard 1,000 stories about told his top disciple 30 years ago one day there will be mma with boxing..a true GENIUS...i heard bruce was so fast and powerful it was supernatural...

  • fantastic - two stand-up classics - bravo

  • Legend vs Legend

  • I dont know much about kick-boxing but that guy it shows training - dennis alexio. I swear he was van dammes brother in kickboxer. Can anyone confirm this for me? He got smashed by your boy though - big tong po. That boy was a beast, used to punch walls and shit. lol

  • tong po was actually van dammes friend from america/canada. he wasnt thai he was actually white! dunno about dennis alexio..

  • You are right. He did play Van Damme's brother in the movie Kickboxer.

  • there an inspiration to all

  • The good old boys, from the good old days:

    Joe Lewis

    Bill Wallace

    Chuck Norris

    Benny Urquidez

  • Wallace tore him up, I have met Wallace is diesel

  • American Full-Contact has never been the same after the time of these guys. I'm a big Muay Thai fan, but you can't compare apples to oranges. Both are great sports and exciting to watch.

  • What year was this as they both look a little 'aged'.

Both fantastic fighters though in their day.

  • 1992

  • Actually it took place in 1990. The first ever live pay-per-view event in the history of American full-contact karate. The main event was the KICK/FFKA unification heavyweight championship between Dennis Alexio and Darell Henegan.

  • @LeftyOleary This fight was in 1990

  • HERO'S OF THE MARTIAL ARTS!!!
