That type of action is pulled off a lot better by Delta force in Iraq and Afghanistan every year, as well as in the Pakistani mountains fighting against the same forces the spetsnaz fought, the spetsnaz lost two of their BEST squads, btw..

Now, let's move on to the fact that the Russian military budget cuts removed just under 70% of their training and equipment money.
Losing 150+ hostages in Moscow is a good example of their failure, not to mention they're unable to get Chechens under control.

The US Delta force and DEVGRU are both incredibly well trained forces.
I respect the Spetsnaz and believe they ARE elite, they just need a few years of open training amongst the special forces community, world wide.
Israel, Aus and NZ all have extremely well trained personal as well.
