Great safety, no gloves, breathing in toxic fumes, and I bet you don't wear eye specs. Get a tiny fragment of that shit reacting to water, and you're going to be blinded for ever!
I like your process. How did you make the makeshift forge you used to melt the metal? also GLOVES!! USE EM YOU NUT CASE! or at least use them fine looking tongs! also your saying the temps in Celsius whats the Fahrenheit temp for melting silver?
PLEASE buddy, what set up are you using? What is your kiln made of and where did you get it?Then is it just propane gas that you are using to melt the silver?I have alot of silver and would like to try making my own ingots and rounds for fun but know nothing about it?any feed back would be fucking great.Thank you
like monoply416 said: w/e you made it was cool, but i still want to know what you were trying to make, and what are those blocks, you used as a furnace, made of?
I just did that with a spoon that was a tripple plate spoon and the silver did melt and seperate from the base metal and collect at the bottom of the crucible in a blob and the base metal ended up solidifing into sharper masses.
this is human ingenuity at its best! if everyone throughout history had been concerned with doing things properly and correctly and following W.H.O safety standards nothing of any importance ever would have been invented, discovered or stumbled upon.
I say go for it, and forget about arrogant doomsayers who like to squash creativity.
Hey, people make mistakes, people get hurt. What? do you want to live in a plastic bubble
I don't know whether to recommend going back to 4th grade or get yourself a job at McDonalds. Face it, your for the lose lids. Your slang is terrible to the 10th level, and your spelling capability emits an iq score of 2.
Quick question, I have a scientific furnace that can go up beyond the melting point of silver, whats the best mold for me to use if I just want to dump in my silver, let it all melt then take it out?
great job, although not compplete. this is how you get better.
i wanna ask what type of plaster you used. i also tried to cast silver once but used plaster of paris which got decomposed. i wanted to mix it with fine carbon dust to keed firescale low but i gave up the whole story. also did i think of either a vacuum system or a centrifugal casting system because i observed that the superficial tension creates casting problems.
Yes I know why, I have converted it by Quicktime from the AVI form my camera to FLV. Later I found out that using Riva the quality is much better and no larger file size.
I've watched your video several times, and still don't know, what are you pouring into? And what did it create?

although you have a nice furnace setup there, you didn't get it hot enough. i have the same problem using propane.
you might wanna experiment with steam casting

Post more videos of things you have no clue how to accomplish properly , safely, or successfully.
Stick with play doh, or another room temperature hobby before you hurt yourself.

what kind of metal cup did you use to melt the silver in and what is the melting point of the silver?
firebolt97 3 years ago
this is a graphite crucible which contains no metal at all.
The melting point of puresilver is 961oC and sterling silver 893.

did you use propane+oxygen mixture?
how long is it took to melt that silver down?
Sumermagor 3 years ago
No I used plain propane without oxygen or compressed air. 100 grams of silver meilts in about ten minutes.

Maybe, I made a new trial and that turned out better, the mold was vertical now. I tried with bost cast iron and silver.
