I wouldn't call it a clone so much as doing what Blizzard was not willing to do at the time. Blizzard isn't the same company it was when they released LoD.

I used to play this for hours a day when I was young on my dad's laptop, but it created viruses and unfortunately I chose Prince of Persia for PS3 over it and that ended everything :( I still keep the two games in my shelf to show how much I love it ;)
This is a pretty good game, but i do have a problem with some of the estetics.

On a sidenote, something i hate with all theese games is that you have to fill in your stat points yourself, it's hard to know what to fill in, and there are allmost never any good guides that are easy to find :/

It's a shame.. Titan quest has higher details than diablo 3. However, diablo requires three times better machine, without any logical reason. I'm playing tq maxed out on 1920x1080 and filming it with fraps without any lag, and then playing d3 beta on lowest settings with fps stuttering, d3 is weird. Gonna see if hits retail THAT bugged as it is in beta

@abhreebhu1 Hey graphics doesnt matter in most games, i play diablo for the sake of knowing how it orginally began and to see how the game had improved over time. No doubt DAO and Witcher is better in graphic, but its all in the preferences of an individual (like minecraft , god the graphic like wth when i first played it). So in my case, i would play a game with this kind of graphics.
You can't really say that this is a clone of diablo, because most action RPGs are like this. The places, weapons, NPCs etc are all different. Anyway TQ is a classic even If it is a bit like diablo. Both games are good!
Where this game is unique and improved over Diablo, Diablo 2, and other lookalikes, is its storyline and cynergy with real human mythological figures. No other game maker has successfully been able to adapt solid graphics, easy to use interface, and responsive game play with a GOOD storyline and back history for games in this genre. I was sad to see the creators not make another expansion after IT, and i wish someone would pick up the torch for them.

Hi, i'm sorry for asking this but you seem to have completed this game. I just finished TQ and then installed TQ-IT expansion. When i start TQ-IT the cinematic is the same as TQ, but the game intro screen is different with a female character. So it is TQ-IT, but the game is starting again in Helos, the same TQ. I would like to know - do i need to play TQ again to be able to play TQ-IT? For all the games like NWN, DS or even Diablo the expansions start just a new game. Please answer.
@sravazdurga You cannot continue into IT directly from your TQ finale, but IT contains the entire TQ game, plus some improvements. It would be cool if you could import your TQ save into IT and resume from that point, but not so.
@RavenJason36 This game is pretty linear, there's a set group of quests that take you to certain towns at certain points. Along the way you can pick up side quests that might give anything from stat points to skills points, permanent stat boost, gear, XP and gold. As for the classes... You start off as a human, no class at all. At the point of which you level, you get to choose from a handful of classes each fairly unique. At lvl 8 you are allowed to chose a second class. Worth a try, pretty fun

I mean, I've played Diablo, Diablo 2, etc. Yes, some of the elements are similar, but the theme to the game, the gameplay, is unique to the game. If I never bought a game that was "similar" to another game, I wouldn't have ANY games, now would I? Skorch, thanks for this "Let's Play". Well done.
I love this game. The Greek mythology element is what makes it so interesting and fun in my opinion. Its pretty easy to get right into even for someone who doesn't usually play PC games. If you haven't played this yet, I'd recommend it.
@Trapdoorscience I agree. In fact I would say if you have not played a pc adventure/rpg game before, Immortal Throne would be a perfect introduction, as it is very generous with quest information, lots of drops and mythological stories to entertain as well. A nice game for the kids, btw!
Prometheus was chained to a stone slab and a great bird ate his guts everyday. The next morning, they grew back and the cycle repeated itself. And he gave fire to mortals.
After reading some of the running battle about whether this is a clone or not and what a clone is in the first place...I somewhat doubt Prometheus gave the gift of knowledge to man...at least not to some of us.

Exscuse me sir but i think your wrong in many places and wats more constantly referening it to diablo is just plain silly ( for instance "works just like diablo 2 with point" considering that 99% of the isometric RPGs have the same type of movement id say thats a pointless comment ) Also if you were truly showing people the game you would of explained about the Weapon/Armour slots can be instantly changed in the inventory with a shortcut key and a button on the HUD. @skorch82 i see nothing wrong with expressing my opoin on the fact that you seem to think that everything originated from Diablo and that anything that is not Diablo is inferior i mean "Diablo Clone" is a clear exspression of this ( its kinda like saying that all the rpg elements came from diablo and no where else) which is not true as it is those elements that make an isometric RPG in the first place. @BanditDragoon I facepalmed IRL. Yes you could say that the only difference between any game is who you kill. 1. Company who made it 2. Controls 3. Storyline 4. Graphics 5. Character names 6. And a genre is a basic type of thing, such as sandbox: Building w/e you want. RPG: Usually involves medieval times and has a good story.
Why complain that a game is another game's clone, if said game is as good- if not better, than the other? I wish there were more games like Oblivion, for example, because I have had so much fun playing it that I could only ask for more.
People need to see that each game is unique in its own way, but they seem to only notice resemblances between games rather than their differences. Video game creation has to be made progressively. Some games will inevitably look-alike in the process.
I hear a lot of people say they have problems after they reformat their PC... One time I accidentally deleted or overwritten my boot partition and had to restore it via cmd prompt.

I am so fed up with so many reviewers of isometric RPG's saying a game is a Diablo clone and then within 30 seconds pointing out plenty of reasons why it's not! If it is not 100% copy of Diablo how can it be a Diablo clone?! Go play Fallout 1 or 2 or Baldur's Gate and see how much Diablo stole from them! So Diablo is a Fallout clone on that basis and it's obviously not!

Diablo is so genre defining, it goes without saying that there's a bit Diablo in this game as well as something original.

Yes, Blizzard invented a genre and other compagnies jumped in and expanded on it (Diablo 3 will be more the better because of Titan Quest's incredible improvements over Diablo 2). Might aswell say that all real-time strategy games are clones of Dune 2 or that all FPS are clones of Wolfenstein 3-d or Doom.
I remember playing this game everyday in last year's summer vacations and it was fantastic! I usually never have much patience for pure hack and slash games but this one was a breath of fresh air.
Beautiful scenarios, mythological creatures, kick-ass classes you can combine. It's an amazing game!

@7zness Did you patch the game to it's latest version? For Titan Quest, I believe it's version 1.30r2. Personally I've always played with the latest patch & never had problems with it.

you can now get both games for 5 bucks on steam today only. As opposed to the gold edition, which costs 10 bucks in most stores and comes with an artbook and dvd cover that's all.
I love this game, it just never really felt like there was enough really cool stuff to collect (gear weapons etc) to me. But over all a great game and surprising that more custom maps weren't released since the editor is relatively easy to use. Thanks for the series.
wat i reallly like about this game is that from time to time villages/camps get under attack and the guards actually have to move their asses not like in many games were it's just pure decoration. makes me wonder wat happens if all the guards die >:D
@MegaFoch It's a singleplayer game with an optional online Co-Op and a "just for shits" PVP mode (which is just there for the sake of it being there and entirely unbalanced). Once you have the game you have the game. No other payment required.

Exscuse me sir but i think your wrong in many places and wats more constantly referening it to diablo is just plain silly ( for instance "works just like diablo 2 with point" considering that 99% of the isometric RPGs have the same type of movement id say thats a pointless comment ) Also if you were truly showing people the game you would of explained about the Weapon/Armour slots can be instantly changed in the inventory with a shortcut key and a button on the HUD. @skorch82 i see nothing wrong with expressing my opoin on the fact that you seem to think that everything originated from Diablo and that anything that is not Diablo is inferior i mean "Diablo Clone" is a clear exspression of this ( its kinda like saying that all the rpg elements came from diablo and no where else) which is not true as it is those elements that make an isometric RPG in the first place. Relating to another similar game does NOT mean that it is a clone, nor indicate that's what I think. You might want to stop misinterpreting what I said.
You can't deny the fact that Diablo was one of the first of it's kind to go this route. Games like Fallout or Syndicate were not quite the same style. That's the way it is.

Why complain that a game is another game's clone, if said game is as good- if not better, than the other? I wish there were more games like Oblivion, for example, because I have had so much fun playing it that I could only ask for more.
People need to see that each game is unique in its own way, but they seem to only notice resemblances between games rather than their differences. Video game creation has to be made progressively. Some games will inevitably look-alike in the process.

I am so fed up with so many reviewers of isometric RPG's saying a game is a Diablo clone and then within 30 seconds pointing out plenty of reasons why it's not! If it is not 100% copy of Diablo how can it be a Diablo clone?! Go play Fallout 1 or 2 or Baldur's Gate and see how much Diablo stole from them! So Diablo is a Fallout clone on that basis and it's obviously not!

@HardWarUK I should point out that Diablo was first released December 1996. Fallout was November 1997 and Baldur's Gate November 1998. If someone "stole" ideas, it's clearly the other way around. People don't respect Blizzard for nothing you know. They are without doubt, pioneers of the modern PC gaming. We shouldn't even be having a conversation about a RPG copying Diablo. Diablo is so genre defining, it goes without saying that there's a bit Diablo in this game as well as something original.

Yes, Blizzard invented a genre and other compagnies jumped in and expanded on it (Diablo 3 will be more the better because of Titan Quest's incredible improvements over Diablo 2). Might aswell say that all real-time strategy games are clones of Dune 2 or that all FPS are clones of Wolfenstein 3-d or Doom.

I remember playing this game everyday in last year's summer vacations and it was fantastic! I usually never have much patience for pure hack and slash games but this one was a breath of fresh air.
Beautiful scenarios, mythological creatures, kick-ass classes you can combine. It's an amazing game!

I love this game, it just never really felt like there was enough really cool stuff to collect (gear weapons etc) to me. But over all a great game and surprising that more custom maps weren't released since the editor is relatively easy to use. Thanks for the series.

wat i reallly like about this game is that from time to time villages/camps get under attack and the guards actually have to move their asses not like in many games were it's just pure decoration. makes me wonder wat happens if all the guards die >:D

Titan quest: Immortal Throne requires the original Titan Quest.
You can buy both on steam (Or just about anywhere that has Titan quest Gold package) for just 10 bucks, eventually less on ebay.

@MegaFoch It's a singleplayer game with an optional online Co-Op and a "just for shits" PVP mode (which is just there for the sake of it being there and entirely unbalanced). Once you have the game you have the game. No other payment required.
