sadly if she was or is a boy, girl or whatever...its nobody's business..I like her Marlene Ditreich like vocal and I'm sure she realizes she doesn't have the greatest vocal but she is def unique..unlike so many of todays pop performers.

Sadly, I think that Amanda Lear does not have any friends, because as I transsexual I know that sometimes (not all of us) we can get very insupportable and egoistic and as strange as it sounds I think that she has more male "friends" than female, because men tend to accept transgendered people more easily if they are MtF.

Well, I just think it is sad to hear what some of you write. Her birth-gender is NOBODY'S business unless she CHOOSES to make it your business. Her voice is deep and smoky and some of us like that. @Animalkisser nope not joking i enjoy the mystique of her vocals this version of the song is cool . its a diffrent take on the song for sure but this is alot better than most music of today. yes it may be auto tuned but not so heavy where its annoying.

lol...i would really love to listen to boy george's comment on this. lately i think that amanda has a terrible voice and only her former producer of her disco period had found a way of mixing it in the ariola studio making it sound mysterious and bearable. but, unfortunately he kept it a secret and ever since amanda's vice sounds like a transgendered sheep on all the recordings

@lemonnis Not only Boy George and Amie Winehouse, but the dead like Eartha Kitt , Edith Piaff, Peggy Lee must be turning in her grave... I always said that I am REALLY greatfull to Anthony Monn for those good years. She alwayas critized him but almost everything she´s done after him is pure crap! My question is: Doesn´t she hear her voice? Unfortunately she went from sounding misterious and sensual to sounding like a drunk drag queen doing kareoke...... Am I too hard on her? I don´t think so.

dear friend, no you are not hard, you are speaking the truth. I agree with you, and i used to be a fan of amanda lear for some time. Her voice after the 'anthony monn' and the ariola years sounds very very bad on every track. And she is musically so untalented that she can not hear how bad she sings. But what about her friends? I guess she doesn't have much friends, otherwise someone must have told her the truth about her bad voice by now..anyway i agree with you fully

@lemonnis Besides all the good points WE are making, it´s the non-sense of her statements in interviews. In a recent one she said that she would go under big plastic surgeries that included "cutting", that she would only do some retouches and fillings. She think we don´t know she had a facelift, several nose jobs, lip implants, a few breast implants and a sex change surgery (all those include major "cuttings")

i agree with you all the way..especially these lip implants look so strange...she almost looks like pete burns from dead or alive. and what i also find very annoying is that up to today she insists lying about her transexuality, insulting all of us, who know, all of her friends who know and sometimes write about it and all the dear people like her who struggle with coping with their transtition and the social exclusion. I do not like her anymore and i won't spend a penny forher
