If they went into a normal XBL team slayer then they would destroy everything, in a tournament it's very different. You have to be tactical and depend on your team mates a lot more.

i have defeated T Squared, Legit, Snip3down, and Walshy in a 1v1 MLG slayer (over XBL). well when i beat T2, i got lucky, we played in MLG heretic V7 and i only won because i was more familiar with the map layout. but come on, anyone can beat walshy, he needs to stick to halo 2.

Lan is also much different than live, and Walshy is one of the best objective players out there. He knows exactly what's going to happen, when its going to happen, and where its going to happen.

Well I hope you realize their sponsors pay for everything so they don't. Also lan is the only thing that matters, xbl is retarded. 4v4 does make a difference as it is the ONLY Halo 3 event MLG does. And Walshy was better in halo2 than in halo3, but a legit brig can't beat him. Walshy focuses more on objective than fighting and that is why he wins objective games. Sure, his slaying power is not as good as it used to be, but you can't argue with the 3rd seeded team.

The Thing about MLG is that they are not necessarily better than you or me if you play enough. But that they work together well and know how to control a map. they are good, ive fought against karma before and theres a lot of team work communication timimg and skill.

its basically a case of 'making it look easy'. one wrong move costs you a massive amount of points in some cases, you and your team need the different roles in a single game to interswitch and knowing where all the jumps and good spots are. and most importantly knowing the other team and there weak points, maybe using heat maps or past games etc.
