@eleziea Thanks .. and .. sure .. you may even be able to commission a painting of a subject / person of your choosing. Just depending on the the variables including style of artistic expression. ( eg similar to picasso or matisse or charles shultz ;)

Her passion is japanese animation art and film making.

She's just started her summer break and she already has a film started ..

You are correct, using photoshop is not easy. In fact, I have a Wacom tablet and even with it I have trouble getting use to painting on photoshop. However, there are two other advantages to photoshop: you do not have to clean up, unlike when painting on canvas with oils or acrylics. Second of all, you do not need to ventilate the space in which you are painting in (especially for oils). Come to think of it, you can only make visual texture on photoshop, but that is alright. It differs by taste.

Well i didn't really want this video to be a basis for debate on whether or not one artform was more difficult than another but .. lets not forget that you can't paint in "layers" like you can with photoshop, you can't use masks, and you can't color correct. and i could go on and on.. both have their difficulties and both are art , you still have to learn how to use the tools .. their just different tools ..

she works mostly in pen * ink. When she was just 3-4 years old i drew Mickey Mouse for her and i did it in ink just to hone my own personal drawing skills. She kept bringing me other charachters each one harder than the next. One day she brought me a "pencil' & paper and i insisted on ink as i jokingly said "thats cheating" draw what you see "the first time" so she took that to heart and always worked in ink. Later in life it took me several months to convince her it was ok to sketch then ink.

lol thats funny, as an artist who has accually painted with that stuff i find the hardest to paint with is gouache now that stuff is hard, atleast with oil you can make a mistake and go over it.

i do both oil painting and photoshop.

I think it's because, even though you can erase mistakes easilly on there, they are easily made, while when oil painting, i tend to be more cautious, and try not to make mistakes in the first place.

yeah, its more like a 3d dance .. and i'm completely surprised that she doesn't use a support rod across the painting like many painter do. She paints even the details with her arm extended. Not exactly sure how she does that. Seems like it would be harder to paint that way but its certainly something she "feels" and dances with.
