This is why I love Clapton. <3 Always have, always will. Okay, now I have to tend to this case of goosebumps I have. Thank you craymands, for sharing.
growing up in the 70's and being a clapton and genisis fan, seeing this video really goes against the grain. it is intolerable. i understand artists working to stay viable in this period of music's demise, but really only in a cocaine induced stupor could this be called anything but industry profit.
How cool Phil Collins is playing the drums. Multitalented man, love him. You should definetly check out the danish singer Hanne Boels version of this song. She completely ROCKS!
I saw him this year in a stunning performance with Toto, as good as always. Those guys, Collins, Knopfler, East, Clapton, Sting...deserve the title musicians. In contrast to some other figures in this business...
he aint stoned hes sniffed up on coke ive got the dvd watch it and he turns his back an snorts his nose indicating that hes on sniff he does it a few times during the concert and hes sweating right out aswell lmao luv it plus during the badge intro he gets right into it and does a little boogie lmao mint Rock on EC
Phil Collins acually did many recordings with Clapton. Clapton needed a drummer when he left Cream and Phil followed. Phil stayed with Eric until after the release of his August album i believe. Phil wrote his "In the Air" hit while with the Clapton group AND Phil also recorded "I wish it would rain down" with Clapton as lead guitar.
The phrase"clapton is God" ,which was coined in the 70's,turned out to be pretty true-He's one of only a couple to be inducted into the Rock and Roll "Hall of Fame" 3 TIMES and,is considered to be a LIVING LEGEND.I remember first hearing this song back somewhere around 1986 off 98 Rock's "King Biscuits Flower Hour" radio show---An awesome song that -unfortunately ,not Many have had the chance to hear .A Awesome ballade from one of the last few MASTERS OF MUSIC.
The "God" thing goes back to the 60s when he was just starting out. As far as I know, he's the only three time inductee. Cream, Yardbirds, solo career.
not even gonna lie..WAY back in 1991, I went back to this guy's house--he was the bartender at our club....we always knew if the timing was right...lol Well, this song HE put on---and I was DONE! lol Tre, whereever you are, I wish you all the best! (what did you ever do with that dreamweaver over the bed?) heehee Goddamn, I got a HUGE smaile right now...LOL
Just when I thought I'd heard everything this guy ever did I find something new! Thanks so much for posting this I love this man so much, you made my night!!

And Nathan East - the grooviest - on bass! Man, whatever happened to him
