His actual work with the game theory analyzes how people react in different situations and how the effect of mutiple players can have on the outcome on those situations. Also people use his game theory formula and other later n earlier works in things like auctions to predict the highest prices ppl with pay 4 things, where to start the bidding etc.

Nash now says his early Game Theories are wrong because he never appreciated players emotions. A psychologist I know met Prof. Nash, she said he definitely has autism (now recovered from Schizophrenia). People with autism can have great difficulty understanding peoples feelings. Yes, it most certainly can. At least as I'm sure you would define it. This is especially true for paranoid schizophrenics (which is Nash's diagnosis). Almost all have delusions consisting of various conspiracy theories of one sort or another. One of the most common involves religious conspiracy theories. The person becomes paranoid, and then finds "evidence" that what he fears is true. Makes no difference that he's hallucinating the evidence. It's his reality until he gets stabilized on meds.

Absolutely unfair characterization. Yes, Professor Nash did make anti-semetic comments. No argument there. However, if he were a true anti-semite, he would make these statements at times when he was not experiencing symptoms of psychosis. Unlike Mel Gibson, who simply lost his inhibitions to make statements, Nash was suffering from actual thought disorder. Professor Nash suffers from a brain disorder not of his making.
