this looks like good german engineering :) okay swiss is right around the corner :) thank u 4 sharing..i am a big fan of making good working gear with the own hands..
The lamp oil i am using is called "Paraffin Oil" in the UK, i think. We call it "Petrol" or "Petroleum" over here (which is not the stuff you drive your car around with).
Looks very well made! my only concern would be the plastic melting (the white lid). Other than that looks very compact, lovely. Personally however, i dont like the smell of petrol in my tent so would not use this indoors. Also, if you knock it over will the petrol not spill everywhere - potential hazard?
@Alloutdoor1 Thanks for your comments! The lid is no problem even if it burns the whole night (I used the lantern for 1.5 years regularly now at it never got too hot). You can buy special lantern petrol over here so the smell is no problem at all and if you knock the burning lantern over it will stop burning (which is handy in the tent). I might show that in a video. Thanks again!
Absolutely brilliant (pun intended). Ingenious, amazingly, creative lantern idea. You should sell and/or patent the design and sell it. Thanks for sharing the design with all of us.
sehr gute Arbeit!!! Wür ich sofort kaufen ;-)

Very cool, what did you make the fuel resevoir from? The way the plastic top locks on looks kind of like some medicine bottles over here.
