  • Lovely ~,~

  • @joelexis Thanks! :-)

  • rage-comics-twenty-minutes-in-and-my-ears-are-bleeding brought me here. I am glad.

  • cooooooooooooooool

  • Very nice song. And the video reminds me of Guitar Hero.

  • OMG this is very lovely. The things on the screen makes it relaxing.

  • fantastic! so glad I stumbled across this. will be great to use with my class - for identifying separate woodwind instruments and linking reading music to this video. simply shows high/low sounds + instruments. really great thanks

  • Its a great song, though!

  • @MusicFreak31296 Thanks! OK, I just uploaded another score (link at the bottom of the video description) that should have the clarinet transposed correctly, if I did it right...

  • I looked at the score and I saw that Clarinet, Flute, and Oboe were all set in the same key, when Clarinet should be in a different key because it's a Bflat instrument while flute and oboe are C instruments. I was playing a few measures on clarinet with a flute and it sounded a little off. Will it sound better with the whole blend or was this a mistake/typo?

  • @MusicFreak31296 In notation, I write all my music as if every instrument was a C instrument ... perhaps a bad practice, but it makes composing a lot easier ... and when I made the PDF score, I never changed it back ... I guess I should? I'll see if I can find the original notation file...

  • @kryptonate11 well then your shit must be fucking amazing!

    dumass...

  • I poop better then this

  • That was awsome! The instruments blended perfectly, so not one was left in the background the whole time (I play the oboe, so I know what it feels like). The video was also great, and so creative. Keep up the good work!

  • @DoorMatt1995 Many thanks! :-)

  • AMAZING ! do you hve a .mus file for it ?! aah !

  • @teerifikc Thanks! I don't have a .mus file for it, unfortunately, since I used Overture to write it... I might have a MIDI though somewhere, in the vast mess of my hard drive :-)

  • Hi Sean, I'm in the midst of writing my own quartet.. problem is.. I don't know anything about them! I'm familiar with different compositional techniques (canonic, counterpoint, etc.) though I'm completely unaware as to whether or not there is any type of traditional structure behind the building of a piece such as this one, is there any chance you could give me some frame of reference? perhaps point me towards some sort of literature that might?

  • As with just about all my pieces, I don't follow any set structure. Of course, just like when writing a melody, a structure will naturally form itself as I write, but I don't give it much conscious consideration. Classically, I guess all my pieces would be considered "fantasias" ... following no rules of any strict musical forms.

  • I bet there are plenty of books on musical forms, but I haven't read any. I'm much more interested in orchestration and melody. I think today's audiences for this kind of music don't expect certain forms anyway, so we're quite free to let the music go wherever we please... a freedom I very much enjoy...

  • you, my sir, are awesome. i may attempt to play this with a few friends (i play flute) if we get the chance :] what a wonderful arangement!

  • Many thanks! :-)

  • Such a treat for the ears. This song makes me think of adventure.

  • bass clarinet pwns the bassoon though :)

  • I really need to get the music for this quartet!!! Please, please!!!!!

I would be greatful for rver!!!

  • There's a link to it in the description :-)

  • Its really cool I Think I'm going to play it with my friends. the Bassoon part is pretty boring and so is the clarinet but the flute and oboe parts and very cool.

  • Many thanks! :-)

Yeah, sorry for the boring bassoon and clarinet parts ... I think they provide a good foundation for the flute and oboe, but they are pretty boring parts ... actually the bass instruments in many of my pieces are pretty boring :-/

  • Yeah your right. Its a good bass part but I still think that it would have been better if there was more of a moldic line at the begining when they are so exposed. I really like when the eighthnotes happen on thier parts. Its a very nice piece. Your also right about bass parts being boring. As a clarinet player I don't usually get boring parts. Except when I play with the orchestra!

  • Well, everyone can't have melody :)

And the clarinet part is more fun than the parts in most clarinet/flute/oboe trios I've played in.....I like this, I wish we had a bassoon player :/

  • Also i would like to say that the flute and oboe parts are very nice I love them!

  • May seem like a dumb question, but to someone like myself, who is unfamiliar with woodwinds, its reasonable lol. It sounds great.

  • Thats not really a question.

  • hahah it looks like an EKG at one point

  • This is a nice video! How did you record as a video what was going on in the music program?

  • Many thanks! I used MAM (music animation machine) and CamStudio to record it... there are links to both programs in the video description. :-)

  • Thanks! I happened to come across this video because I wrote wind quartets as well, which seems to not be very common compared to a wind quintet. I really like this program as well, but I haven't used it to make a video yet!

  • Wow, that sounded amazing. Thank you for posting the site to get the machine. I love this.

  • Thanks! :-)

  • very nice peice i am a clarinet player myself

  • beutiful!!

  • Many thanks! :-)

  • Beautiful piece!!! :)

  • hey whats wrong with your site? I cant get on it ='(

  • is it still not working? seems to be working okay for me... :-/

  • yeah I'm getting

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: detectbot() in /home/hannifin/public_html/home/includes/data/ua.inc on line 136

  • nevermind lol. I guess my browser doesn't like you! I used a different one and its ok now.

  • Aha... what browser was it? The content management system I use seems to block newer browsers every now and then ... it's a really annoying problem

  • I was using Google Chrome(which is a VERY fast browser, but also really new) If that helps.

  • Ah, many thanks, I'll see if there's anything I can do to get my site to work with that

  • I like the music, but what's up with the line?

  • Wow, this is amazing!! It'sI play the flute for my school's concert band, and my best friend who sits behind me (wierd seating order) is a bassoonist, and our best friend is a clarinet!! Now if only the oboe didn't hate us...!!

  • Ah no, the evil oboist... :D Still, flute, clarinet, bassoon... not a bad trio! Anyway, many thanks for watching! :-)

  • haha damn oboe

  • i play the oboe in cypress palm intermediate band and this soiunds so cool, both of my freinds are flute and clarinet players

  • wow, i absolutely adore this song! i am an oboe player and friends with several all-state players. is there any way you would let us play this piece for a contest?? i could supply you with a video of us playing it.

  • Oh of course, I'd love that! :-) Many thanks!

I have a score on my website, linked to in the description... only I forgot to transpose the clarinet...

  • Could you provide the sheet music for this?

  • I have sheet music for this on my site, linked to in the description... though I might have forgotten to transpose the clarinet. Argh, transposing instruments!!

  • I am great at transposing. Not really fast, but great! Do I have to purchase sheet music?

  • It's free. :-) It's just a PDF file on my site.

  • Its only one note up from a C instrument with 2 extr flats / 2 less sharps =|

But forget french horn, I couldn't transpose that if i tried.

  • It's actually 2 extra sharps, but yes you write everything a tone higher. Just thank God we don't use clarinets in F flat or something.

  • F Flat? That WOULD be torture, I dont know if it even exists! .... Unless you mean F major, then the poor clarinets would have to make up new sharps to keep consitstant with the other keys!

"Its F Triple sharp dear, mark it please."

  • that was REALLY good!

  • Fun piece! I'm so glad you're using my software.

  • Ditto. Thanks! Really cool.

  • This is really nice!

Would u at all mind if I used your music for a background theme for youtube, if u can send it to me plz?

  • Thanks!

You may of course use it... I have a free MP3 of it on my website, if that's what you're looking for.

  • beautiful

  • Thanks!

  • bravo!

  • Thanks! :-)

  • I'd be afraid myself to try the clarinet part with all those staccato notes... why did I write that?

Many thanks for your comment! :-)

  • Oh my!!! i LOVE IT!!! Such a cool peice!!!!

  • Thank you, glad you like it! :-)

  • Wizzerd this is so nice the clarinet the babby basson and the oboe and the flute sounds amazing. Did you and your friends make this? Brw,i play the oboe and clarinet but im advanced in oboe :-D

  • its awesome at the begginning but in the middle it gets a tincy winny boring but its awesome:D

  • Many thanks! :-)

  • your welcome:)

  • Really great piece! the beginning is a bit weak due to the bassoon (I think that's the English word) sounding so obviously machinemade, but as soon as the more high pitched instruments join in you forget all about the un-living sound of the bassoon. It just sounds happy, nice and great :-D

I was planning on convincing the quintet I'm in, to adapt this to five persons, but then I remembered that I, the tuba, would have to play the lower part :-S

And Amadeus is great, the first 3 times :-D

  • lol ... my apologies for all those boring staccato notes! :-/

Many thanks for all your kind comments!

  • A PDF score to this piece is now available on my website (see the bottom of the video info for the link)

  • 'Slike a conversation. It's creative. Love it!

  • Thanks! ... a "conversation" ... hmmm, I like the comparison! This is definitely more "conversational" and less "direct melody" like most of my pieces.

  • Can you make a score please...*beg* BUT i understand if you don't...no time, b z, things like that

  • I'll definitely make the score, but probably won't have much time to do it until the semester ends in a few weeks.

  • I'm just curious, WizardWalk, what kind of video games do you play? Your music is very intelectual and intriguing and I think it would be great music for an epic video game like final fantasy or something. Great job!keep it up!

  • Thanks! I've actually never played the Final Fantasy games, but I do enjoy some of its great music. I haven't played many games lately, but I've enjoyed the Myst games, The Sims, and Shadow of the Colossus... that has some great music too. :-)

  • BRILLIANT.AWESOME.FANTASTIC.

  • Thanks! :-)

  • This is awesome.

  • Forgot to say... And yes, Amadeus is an awesome movie. Ahahahahahaha... haah......

  • I think you're the first person to say anything about the credits... :-) Thanks for your comments!

  • i love ur work!!! Which instruments did ya use

  • Thanks! This piece uses a flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon.

  • this is so cool! i wish i could write stuff like this.....

  • Thanks! :-)

  • Wow do you the score yet and can I have the score please....

  • have you got the score for this please? its lovely. :P

  • Thanks! I don't have a score yet, but I can work on it... (might take some time though because I've been quite busy).
