  • yeah! You r rit. And yes it helped a lot . Hopefully i'll buy one this christmas

  • You def won't be disapointed. Good luck

  • hey!!! thx but y 3 harps??? lyk... are they 3 different models? if so which model would u reccomend me.

  • All same models. One is gold colour, and the other two are silver colour. I buy new ones every couple of years or so, simpley because they go out of tune, as do more expensive chrom's. So rather than paying a pro to tune them back to spec, "I change them for new. Cheaper that way.

  • @braddangolf hey .. I happen to read a review recently he said that in the first 4 holes there could be air leakage. What has your experience been so far? Is it a big issue?

    Thank's

  • I own 3 swan 1248's and I have never had any issues with air leakage

  • hey swan! Nice video. I'm planning to buy my 1st chrome. I'd seen a swan 1248 the other day. Would it be a good choice to buy? Is it compatible with other harps? Also let me know of the name of your harp (if there's some specific code or so).

  • Good chromatic for the price. Swan 1248 chromatic harmonica, in the key of c.

  • Thanks for your reply about backing track....will follow up your advice....cheers.

  • No problem, hope you get sorted

  • Hi, great rendition of a great tune, have almost got the hang of it myself on my hering chromatic but havn't a clue about getting the backing music to go with it. Is there somewhere I can buy or download it?

  • Hi, Backing music not available, but a professional organ teacher in your area would probably record you the backing. Just take a copy of the original to let him here. Amazing effects on todays modern electric organs.

  • Hi Jeff, You can't go wrong buying a Swan chromatic, as its a really underated harmonica. Get in touch with "THE REALLY USEFUL MUSIC COMPANY" and they will sort you out. Get it in the key of C. Many thanks

    Glenn

  • Really good. I was about to order a Suzuki SCX48, but I think I may give the Swan a try instead.

  • Hi, Suzuki SCX48 is a really good chrom, but the Swan 1248 is not too far behind. I got mine for practise purposes only, but still use it more than my other chrom's.

  • Swan Chromatic 1248, round hole, same reeds as Huang, Exactly same chrom, only Huang is sold in US market. I own various chrom's, Saxony, Suzuki leghorn, Suzuki SCX 48, Bends Tonica, and the Swan in my opinion sounds just as good if not better. Very underated instrument. Regards G

  • Hi!

    Again...nice job!!

    What model 1248 is that??

They have a 'Thick reed'...round/square hole and a Professional Model?

Man I have to try one!! Killer sound here.

    Thanks!

    Bernie

  • Hi, it is a Swan Professional 1248, with round holes. I believe Swan have introduced a new model with thicker reeds. Hope this helps

  • Hi!

Another great example of sometimes 'Less is More'!!!

Great tone, mix, ochestration and technique! Very inspiring!

A big hit here!!!! Great Tone...I can't get over it!!

    Nice job!!

    Thanks!

    Bernie

  • Many thanks Bernie, Glad you enjoyed it.

  • No chance of putting it up yourself then?

  • Sorry, wouldn't be able to do that, as I would be infringing copyright law. Many tab sites shutting down 4 that reason. Why not practice it yourself as I did, and adapt your own interpretation. Thanks for looking, Regards G

  • Any chance of a tab?

  • Did'nt use tabs 4 this track. Spent weeks learning it by ear though. Trial and error until u get it right

  • Great to hear that wonderful music....as a kid watching the movie and listening harmonica my dream was to go to America, that was 40years a go,thanks for bringing it back.

  • So glad it brought back good memories for you.

  • Hey mate. Sounds amazing. This is one of my favorite pieces of music. It has inspired me to learn to play the harmonica. I haven't bought one yet but you have convinced me to start learning. At the risk of sounding arrogant how long do you think it would take a absolute beginner to play this track? I know it depends of the amount of time and effort applied but ball park timeframe? Thanks for posting this. Simply beautiful.

  • 1/ Buy 12 hole chrom, key of c. 2/ Learn 2 blow and draw single notes. 3/Practice blow and draw using the slide button. This will produce notes like black keys on a piano. 3/ Practice yor scales,4/ Then learn tablature, this is a way 2 write out songs 4 a harmonica without using standard musical notation.Tabs tell u which holes 2 blow and draw. 5/ Learn a few easy songs 2 play using tabs. 6/ Then take a crack at Mid/ cowboy. From scratch it took me 3 months of solid practice. Gud luck G

  • That is quite simply....gorgeous, well done, I've just started on a harp so am a long way from this, but you have inspired me....superb ! Best wishes, Glenn

  • Many thanks 4 your kind words, and good luck with your new harp. G

  • A 1

  • Glad you liked it

  • drunkinmaster same here ..a broken reed went down my trow only diference is that i swallowed it and i dont know how to fix it i also need a tech cause it cost 250 us dollar for a new64chromonica.hohner....but lets keep on havin funblowin to a nice tempo and sound..

  • Nice timing. Well played.

  • Many thanks, glad you liked it

  • What key is your harmonica in?

  • It is in the key of "C" hope this helps

  • I felt really moved by this.

  • Thank you. What a lovely compliment

  • Hi, Google "national harmonica league," then click on links page. You will then find a list of repairers. But to be honest, the repair will probably cost more than your harmonica is worth, Your best bet would be to buy new. The swan 12 hole chromatic can be purchased for under £40. Hope this helps.

  • Awesome, Thank You

  • Glad u enjoyed it. Thank u for your kind words

  • can i only play this on a chromatic?

  • Yes, only on a chromatic

  • @braddangolf thanks man.....i need to fix my chromonika III...nearly chocked on a broken reed..lol,half the notes dont play......any place in uk that you know of?

  • Try the national harmonica league, they have a list of repairers

  • Thank you for your kind words

  • You have made me go and purchase a harmonica...now if only I can play like this...

Oh what key is this harmonica in?

  • The harmonica is in the key of "C" Good luck with your new chromatic.

  • Great job on the harmonica keep it up

  • Many thanks, Glad you liked it.

  • Hi Did you get your teacher friend to do the backing track because you couldn't find anything out there? Have searched every backing track site I can find I cannot find this track.

Anyone else managed to find a suitable backing track?

  • Hi, The backing track was written and performed by my daughters organ teacher. Regards Swan

  • I don't think back track is available to buy

  • Backing track not available in the shops

  • excellent, your single notes are clear and crisp. Your video has made me switch to a chromatic and once I locate a backing track I will crack this. What key is your swan for this? Best version I have heard on here, apart from Toots of course!

  • Many thanks for your kind words. My chromatic is in the key of C. Good luck with your playing.

  • Good job. nicely done

  • Glad you liked it, Many thanks.

  • Very very nice!!!

Where can i find the background music, i sure like to have it.

    Will you mail me? please

    Greetings from holland

  • Hi, the backing track was created on a Yamaha electronic organ by my daughters music teacher, so unfortunately not available in the shops Regards Swan

  • very nice well done ,

  • Much appreciated.

  • I tried to play the harmonica years ago, but i gave up. You sound real good.

I love this song. One of the first tunes I learned to play......on the guitar!

    :)

  • Also the 1st tune I learned to play,, The original was played by Toots Thielmans, from the movie "Midnight Cowboy". Not a really difficut piece to play, but capturing the feeling that Toots put into it is virtually impossible. Thank you for your kind words. Swan

  • That was so good it was just like the original.

  • Many thanks, nice of u to take the time to listen

  • Pure talent, great track. Id love to learn to play.

  • Thank you for the kind comment

  • Nicely Done. Thanks.

  • Pleased u liked it
