@NEWGRINDTV its the lens, the settings, the focus, the post process, there are a lot of factors to filming. as far as lenses go i would get a prime lens and or a canon L series lens to get really good sharp clips

@elliotnicklin it is bad for your sensor to shoot into the sun but at the same time it wont do any noticeable damage for a looooooooooong time. You gotta do what you gotta do to get the good shot. It was also not a very bright sun that day there was allot of atmospheric haze. That combined with a uv filter and lens hood id say my sensor is fine.

You seem to be quite a good filmmaker. I have been into filming stuff for about 3 years now. I started with just a digital camera, and the past year I have been using a Kodak Playsport Zx3. I am wanting to step up my game and get a even better camera, and I need some help. Do you know of any video camera that are under 300 dollars? Specifically, I would want a camera that can do depth of field, and Hd video. Nothing too fancy, I just would like to be able to record more professionally.
