ah this phone brings back memorys. There was a time when everyone had this phone it was like the coolest thing ever. Back in the day when no body had smartphones or could afford them. Back then sony ericsson phones where the best. Im so amazed that people are saying there phones are still working because there was a huge fault in this model where the keypad buttons snapped in the middle it was a huge design floor i had to send mine back for 3 weeks to get repaired. Mine only lasted 6 months

Have owned mine 3 years and 3 months and it still looks and functions like new.It all comes down to how u take care of ur things.I still even have the protective film on the screen.Removing the back cover is actually a piece of cake-hold the phone with its back facing u,left thumb on the Sony E. emblem,push down and pull.Battery still gives me 8 hrs of MP3 play.I dont like that it doesnt record duration of all calls.Buttons cracking was an issue when they first came out.Happy with it.

If you want a cheap phone, for the basic everyday use, go for it.
But if you want something with connectivity and extra features, get away from it.

it was only yesterday this phone decided that it didn't have a sim card anymore, so i lost all my photos and stuff. it's absolutly shockimh. i'm trading it in for a better one i swear to god. i've only had it a month.
@rahuldank91088 no, even if it was DON'T GET IT!!!! it has a tendency to freeze and the screen cracks very easily, the sound dosent get loud at all when useing earbuds, and the earbuds that come with it are tiny and u have to put on an adapter, and txting is very laggy if u r a fast txter, and the speaker that is usded for calls is retardedly quiet and you need to press it against your ear to here somone,etc,etc

I've had this phone for around two years, and I drop it at least once every week...it's still fine, without a case or anything, and has hardly accumulated any evidence of its torture, save for a few scratches...it lags sometimes, especially when it's just turned on, but otherwise, no other complaints whatsoever! Strange, the phone works like a charm after 2 years. Of course that all depends on how you take good care of it. Every thing is worn down, only physically of course. But the system is still running in 100% capacity so I don't know what all of you guys did to your w580i. Remember, its a fragile sophisticated technology not some oversize Brick phone.

i currently own this phone (in three year contract), its not bad aside from a broken battery cover (that was my fault) its definatly one of the better phones ive had so far, but there as issues i do have with it, particularly the voice control, most phones it asks for a command and then it does it, this one requires you to record the commands and you hope it will match your voice with your recorded one, this doesnt work well!

plus it has a TERRIBLE memory unless you buy a memory card, which is about $30. ya crappy. and the buttons DO break. Not to a point where it is unusable but they do break. But the built in pedometer is nice and so is the FM radio. and texting is great actually:) it has nice apps. just it is a SHORT TERM phone only. IT WILL BREAK! but i would give 4 out of 5 stars. just be ready for some problemos
I've had this phone for 2 years. I really loved it! but I occasionally, when i would slide it up, it would get stuck and i couldnt slide it back down. Eventually, everytime, it would go back down and slide normal. But the last time it happened, i pushed it down and it broke! The track broke and the screen became disabled! It'll cost $75 to fix!
I only reccomend this phone if you want it for a short amount of time. About a year or so. THATS IT! it WILL BREAK and GIVE YOU PROBLEMS!

@laziefairy, I beg to differ. The C905 doesn't have an "even better" camera, it has a MUCH better camera (2.0 vs 8.1 Megapixel), that's a lovely phone. Hope to get it for bday in September

I would not reccomend this phone, I have had mine for about 7 months, and 3 of the number buttons are cracked in half, the side lights are burnt out, two of the front interface buttons are falling out and the battery life isn't very good.
A word of caution I bought this phone for my wife off Ebay and yes it works fine but you will not be able to recieve MMS on it I have talked to Tech Support and there was nothing they could do.

The screen went black as it cracked when i dropped it on the floor today, the keyboard buttond are cracked, the little plastic peice on the bottom(where the microphone is) has fallen off, the speaker started to cut out more and more often and now it doesn't work at all, all the covers are loose, the SE logo on the back has fallen off... read more below...
...and i can lift the screen part from the key part (witthout it falling off though), and the camera/microphone can't take loud sounds. I have filmed at several concerts and barely heard a shit!

plus it has a TERRIBLE memory unless you buy a memory card, which is about $30. ya crappy. and the buttons DO break. Not to a point where it is unusable but they do break. But the built in pedometer is nice and so is the FM radio. and texting is great actually:) it has nice apps. just it is a SHORT TERM phone only. IT WILL BREAK! but i would give 4 out of 5 stars. just be ready for some problemos

I've had this phone for 2 years. I really loved it! but I occasionally, when i would slide it up, it would get stuck and i couldnt slide it back down. Eventually, everytime, it would go back down and slide normal. But the last time it happened, i pushed it down and it broke! The track broke and the screen became disabled! It'll cost $75 to fix!
I only reccomend this phone if you want it for a short amount of time. About a year or so. THATS IT! it WILL BREAK and GIVE YOU PROBLEMS!

@laziefairy, I beg to differ. The C905 doesn't have an "even better" camera, it has a MUCH better camera (2.0 vs 8.1 Megapixel), that's a lovely phone. Hope to get it for bday in September

I luv mine because...well....it's pink however the keypad is....a bit suckish because i've used it not for so long and its already stuck, like, how to say, tight to press, and...the layer of the paint on the arrow keys< or whatever u call it will come off and it will look very ugly in the future, and dusts are easily trapped by the lining of the screen......
Other than that, i love this phone.

god i had the one that didnt have the orange walkman simbol infront (dunno the model number) it had everything i wanted and i also loved the light effects even the battery live was super....even thought the some of the buttons broke yet i didnt care...i loved this phone but the screen burnt out so yeah....i was sad but my parents gave me a c905a and yeah i love this phone too but it dosent have some features that this phone has...like the player but i can live with that LOVED THIS PHONE

I would not reccomend this phone, I have had mine for about 7 months, and 3 of the number buttons are cracked in half, the side lights are burnt out, two of the front interface buttons are falling out and the battery life isn't very good.

A word of caution I bought this phone for my wife off Ebay and yes it works fine but you will not be able to recieve MMS on it I have talked to Tech Support and there was nothing they could do.

i had this phone...it broke three times and i didnnt even do anything!!! I liked that you could get themes online and stuff...and the lights, but other then that it was terrible. The keys cracked in half, once it fell and not even very far and the whole screen came out! and once it just stopped working for no reason! i mean i go through phones fast, but not cuz i break them. worst phone i ever had. liked it at first but not after a while.

oooh it looks cool!! the transparent keypad is awesome. no qwerty keyboard though :( I used to have the LG Vu but i didnt like texting on the touch screen and i remember the W580i and i dont miss texting with the number keys haha.

do not get this freaking phone, its the worst phone ever! its not even durable, i dropped it, then the spring broken. i was texting it on my bus stop the first day of school, it was drizzling, not even really, it was fine, but then once i got on the bus the 4 and 6 button didnt work then once i got on the bus to go home, the phone completely fell apart and the buttons crack while texting, dont get it, the pantech matrix and the LG shine are my favorites out of my five phones ive ever had haha :]

@missemo1000 i have had this phone for two and a half years and mine is runing just like new. it used to be my moms but she only had it for a few monthes. i have the pink one and there are only two things i would change, chat text and a full keyboard but besides that i love it. i only have to charge it maybe every two days...and i text alot. but its not for everyone i guess

From going through 2 of these from my carrier... I can say 1 thing...
The newer ones that are "MADE IN CHINA" are much stronger compared to the "MADE IN MALAYSIA".
Some differences I found out was that there was glue from the front plate and the LCD, so when you drop it, your LCD doesn't fly out.
Keypads are stronger than before... but it still sucks due to the design. Press in the middle of the button.
Softkeys at the top should be pressed closer to the circular D-pad... They won't break

my one is fucked! The screen went black as it cracked when i dropped it on the floor today, the keyboard buttond are cracked, the little plastic peice on the bottom(where the microphone is) has fallen off, the speaker started to cut out more and more often and now it doesn't work at all, all the covers are loose, the SE logo on the back has fallen off... read more below...
