Is it just because I know the song so well that I'm hearing the instruments in my head along with the vocals, or are the instruments still there at a very low level? I SWEAR I can hear them.
@zbr76 The instrumental tracks are there but at a low amplitude/volume. I can hear them too. You probably would not be able to get the actual a cappella version i.e. the original vocal recordings/tracks held by the record company. Those would be completely devoid of instruments because all the different tracks were recorded separately and put together to produce the final mix. Hope I helped.
@RyuMasterEX I've been looking for "the show must go on" Queen acapella with no luck. A guy once told me that since Freddie was very ill I probably won't find what I'm looking for. Everything was done quickly. He's probably correct because Brian did say that Freddie recorded "the show must go on" in one take.
I'm assuming all the later songs were done the same way because of Freddie's illness. I believe "in my defence" happened the same way.
