  • Thank you very much for this wonderful video :)

I want to try EFT but i have a question. I have seen some videos in which people say Negative Statements while tapping and they say that it will release their Negative Beliefs. In other videos some people use Positive Statements while tapping and they say it will increase Positivity (Confidence etc). If saying a Negative Statement while tapping releases (delete) the Negative Energy then won't saying Positive Statement release (delete) Positivity?

  • @LeaveImpression

Excellent question! EFT does not release beliefs; it releases the Stress Response (Fight or Flight, Charge) associated with beliefs. What appears positive, can be negative (carry a charge) for some people. To a happy person, “I am soooo happy!” is a statement of fact. To a depressed person, it may have emotional charge (anger, resentment, frustration, hurt, sadness). So, it is impossible to release a true positive (or belief) because they do not carry a charge. Happy tapping!

  • How do you know when to stop doing the set up?

  • @DrGyalfren

The purpose of the setup is to prepare for tapping. Three rounds are most common.

If you have a strong stress response, you do not need to do the setup at all. Just start tapping. Hope that helps!

  • @vlis2002 Thanks for getting back to me. I've been reading Vanzant's Peace from Broken Pieces and she talks a lot about doing Tapping or EFT, but she talks about phrases that don't seem to fit into the 'Even though I have this...' phrasing. Even the EFT mini manual available on the EFT website says something about tapping for 'potential and probability' - how do you tap for something like that?

  • @DrGyalfren

Look for phrases that increase your distress. Examples on this topic include "I am a failure," "I am too old to reach my potential," and "all my hopes and dreams have been squashed." Once you begin tapping, watch for new memories and emotions to crop up. Then refocus, and tap again.

  • @vlis2002 Thank you!

  • Could I ask how many times you're supposed to do this each time, is it like "I have a negative feeling" then you do it through until you're feeling fine or what?

  • @qwertyuiopdan1

The SECRET of EFT is to INCREASE the INTENSITY of your negative emotion. Usually, being specific helps. For example, thinking about work may make you angry. Thinking about your last performance review may make you SUPER angry. So, focus on whatever intensifies your negative feeling & tap. It usually takes a few cycles. If a new emotion or memory comes up, change your focus & tap again. When your emotional response to the memory is completely gone, you are done. Hope that helps!

  • It sounds as if you are not getting clear results. You should experience a reduction in stress within a few minutes of tapping. Then you know that you are done. To be effective, exaggerate your stress & tap until it is gone. This gives you a strong "before" to compare with your "after." An event may need to be separated into parts. Be specific. (What really makes you angry? Sad? How could the situation have been worse?) BTW- I don't think you can overdo it; just be sure you're getting results.

  • If you have a strong emotional response, affirmations are not necessary. Good luck!

  • a beginner with eft but so far so good works like a chram,my only problem tho is findind the right affirmations to do the tapping.might you have any writtten articles about the matter

  • Thanks for your reply.....i will try this.

  • just wondering only emotional related problems can be solved with EFT or some other pains like knee pain or foot pain etc etc can be also healed?

  • Yes, EFT can work with physical problems and pain. It may be helpful to tap first on your emotional response to the pain such as, "I hate this knee pain" or "I'm so frustrated that I cannot walk." Then tap on your symptoms such as "this burning pain in my knee." Adjust the tapping phrase if your pain changes intensity or location. For pain, relief may or may not be permanent. If it returns, tap again. I hope that helps!

  • This technique is great. Thanks for the video.

  • thanks dear...great job.

  • So you said this is permanent? so after this 5 minute session i wont have anymore stress relating to work? Im not tyring to be smart but I dont realy understand

By the way in the first video you said you have to recognize what body parts your stress is coming out of... How do you do that, are those the parts you tapped

  • Tapping on a specific incident such as a co-worker's critical remark is likely to be permanent.

Tapping on a general statement such as "stress related to work" involves many incidences. The source of the problem (focus) is less clear and results are less likely to be permanent.

As you think about the event, do you notice a tightening in your belly? Chest? Throat? Shoulders? If you cannot find it elsewhere, check for a sense of pressure in your head.

  • does changing the tone of voice have to do with anything or have i just noticed that

  • Tone of voice can be helpful, although it's not necessary.

  • Is this method effective if someone taps you instead of tapping yourself ? cause it always feel better to be touched then to administer touch to yourself (so to speak).

  • Good question. Yes, EFT works when someone taps you. You want to feel emotional distress though, for EFT to be most effective. So don't get too comfortable (at least until you're done tapping) O.K.?

  • Valerie, the use of affirmations doing algorithms or PR corrections was dropped over 12 years ago. Affirmations create misunderstanding that TFT (EFT is a loose copy of TFT) is cognitive therapy, as well as creates apex problems for some clients. Please call it what it is, TFT and teach it correctly.

  • Yes, EFT is derived from Thought Field Therapy. Gary Craig, EFT originator, and I are grateful to Dr Roger Callahan for his contribution toward the development of EFT.

  • Although initially derived from TFT, EFT is a much simpler process with no known contraindications. The EFT Short Method shown in this video is widely used in practice today.
