  • TOO BAD THEY STARTED AWESOME AND ENDED AS CINDERELLA"THE BAND)...OR WORST

  • Never seen this before i can't believe thus is The Heep God this sucks!!!!!!!!!

  • best rock voice of all time!

  • David Byron was sheer talent, I don't think anybody can come close to him.

  • Europe ????? (hehehehhhehhhehheeh)

  • need to be fuckin' stupid to compare beegee to sloman.

  • He sounds like a BeeGee wannaby. I don't hear Heep in here either. I don't care for Bernie Shaw. I do like Lawton. Powerful voice. Its good to see he and Ken doing some work together after all these years. But this guy, I would rather turn the music off.

  • @bluangel150 This is John Sloman. But I agree John Lawton and David Byron were by far the best vocalists of Uriah Heep.

  • @hermygagala I agreee, but John SLoman's voice is more funky

  • I think Slomans vocal is one of the best in rock world!!!

  • @Lion777Heart Alexandre Dumas pere wrote over 400 historical novels exposing world tyranny(Roman Catholic Empire). Alexandre Dumas pere was born near Paris in 1802 and 'coincidentally' in 1902 The Society of Gesu(Jesuits) were expelled from France for the 3rd and last time. The Society of Jesu(Jesuits) have been expelled from 83 countries and their pope is ARAMIS AND HE IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE COUNT OF MONTE CHRISTO(GENERAL OF THE JESUITS).

  • John Sloman foi um vocalista sensacional, pena ele não ter tido sorte em sua carreira.

  • I like too J. Sloman, but my fav is John Lawton.... and after Bernie Shaw, Peter Goalby, D.byron.....

  • Sloman sang and acted like a cheap Coverdale wannabe. this is known to have been the main reason for Hensley leaving the band.

I just can't recognise Uriah Heep in this band with this hair metal singer transforming Hensley´s lyrics into something silly. His singing on Out on the street for example is just pathetic. If you think Conquest is a great album and Sloman a great singer just listen or watch David Byron on July Morning or even Lawton on Sympathy.

Lucky this is the lowest they got

  • @Txukitxuki69 we ve seen byron and lawton too but sloman stay in one row with them! no doubt! Just great singer!!!!

  • 'Conquest' is a great and underrated album. I liked this album they did w. Sloman on vocals, better than any Lawton-stuff.

  • the Heep died after Innocent Victim.Jonh Sloman was the chance but they were afraid of.they could not permit themselfs a figure eaqual to Lawton to destroy the Hensley's leadership.its was a fatal mistake and the band came to the end of creative power.all the Heep after is a commercial project.Nevertheless the 7 years of true Heep are the greate pages in the history of rock.

  • Sorry Mr.Sloman, but Mr Byron and Mr Lawton are waaaayyyyy better than you! You have screwed Heep's sound.

  • It's really funny to read the girls' comments on this they listen with their eyeballs thus the popularity of Poison, Motley Crue John Lawton is so much better than this it's ridiculous

  • @paistecat OK, as one of the girls listening to the Heep here, I would say LAWTON, LAWTON and again, LAWTON !!!! He was and STILL IS unique and gave the band their true sound and image. Happened to listen to him performing this summer - just two metres away from him. What an incredible singer! He sang for near 1.5 hours non-stop. Love him!

  • great.

  • he tried to make the heep a hair band

  • Oooh Sweeeet Eye candy

  • That singer had a cool vibe!

  • conquest--great album!

  • Think's he's David Coverdale.

  • @PupuTheClown with the voice of glenn hughes :) haha

  • Gran época.

  • Ez jóóóóóó

  • Yes bass sounds good, if you have enough good speakers or headphones.

  • great songs , great memories

  • great song!

  • a testicle free zone :)

  • Yeah, Hensley wrote this

  • FUCK YOU!

  • haaha

  • Great bass!!!!!!!

  • Chris Slade with hair

  • Conquest ... very controvertial album

  • but for me one of the best

  • Bands need to evolve. By 1980 AOR was massive and the NWOBHM was on the rise. Clearly Heep's days of singing about wizards and rainbow demons were behind them.

Anyway what's wrong with enjoying a good tune. We don't have to listen to what the NME or Radio 1 tell us to like.

  • @UliJones Wise words from you!

  • uhm... what's ur arguement? no, it's not sabbath... it's a completely different band...

  • not really arguing, just thought it was girly meaningless trite like boston and chicago. really weak and annoying drivel.

  • Not their greatest track by a long way but what the hell is 'corporate shite' ?

  • One of my favourite singers.. he has a great voice

  • gloriosa cancion!

  • Good feeling.s

  • No wonder why Heep lost all their fans

  • Newton was great. So was Thain. They were Heepsters, man!

  • Lame. Give me Demons and Wizards.

  • John has a new album "Reclamation" available from his new website johnsloman. net

  • gracias John Sloman gracias maestro!!que hermosa cancion!! que melodia vocal, gigante gigante lo tuyo Sloman!!

  • I grew up in the 70's and heard both versions of 'Feelings', both by Uriah Heep and Morris Albert, which by the way, were totally different tunes, not just the musical genre, but also the song itself, with totally different lyrics. Uriah Heep's version was much better, while Morris Albert's version practically put me to sleep.

  • There are not different versions but different songs.

  • Great band,in any incarnation Heep ROCKS!!!

  • Arrrrggggggg!!!!!

  • Chris Slade on the drums!!! Wow! He played with David Gilmour and ACDC!

  • & manfred man

  • COOL

  • this is a good band if u dont consider it heep u get me?? it dosent sound like heep

  • i agree, is other band, not heep, mick box keep doing music under uriah heep name but he had to chenge for other, uriah heep is david byron, hensley, newton, box and kerslake

  • Sloman is good is in his own way but for me there is too much inflection in his voice, too many ooahh ooh whoah oh etc etc :)

  • disco candies :))

  • Espetacular!!!!!!!

  • Uriah Heep WERE David Byron. Ken Hensley. Mick Box. Gary Thain and Lee Kerslake full stop

  • FULL STOP agree :-)

  • Conquest kick ass!!! Some people hate it !! I love it! Is Sloman still singing??

  • This is very good rock song.1:25

  • the last great song that ken hensley wrote to the band

    =/

  • To even use the name Uriah Heep after David Byron died, is so utterly wrong. When he died Uriah Heep turned into a popband... just listen to the singer! lmfao!!!.. sounds like a cheap sugarpop-seudo-heavy band. Uriah Heep lost the magic when David Byron died..

  • I don't agree with you, at all. John Lawton's era was excellent as well, he gave renewal to the band and the albums with him on vocals are gems, specially Firefly. About this vide, I just gotta say that I like it a lot, even though it is a playback, but as there's so little amount of material from this period, the few things are highly appreciated. Sloman has a great voice, I wish he lasted longer on the band.

  • i think Sloman kicks ass, you can see him in LONESTAR - from all of us to all of you, great live video with Paul Chapman from UFO

  • first of all David Byron died in 1985 long after he was asked to leave the band, the band had a singer JOHN LAWTON replace David. John Sloaman who is the singer in this video is a talent to be reconned with. See LoneStar : ) Just to clarify, the band had been going for about ten years before Byron passed away. Best regards!

  • I know when David died. I know what happened regarding Uriah Heep. I don't really get your "argument".. What I ment to say was, that imo, the band UH ended when Byron was no longer the singer.. I don't care how many lollypop-boyband singers, became part of UH afterwards.. The vibe, the sound, the otherworldly atmosfere, ended with David. He was unique.. You weren't around when the first album came out, you didn't go to the concerts. You haven't got a clue what I'm talking about, honestly..

  • However, maybe I didn't espress myself well enough.. It happens :)

  • dude , you obviously dont know what you are talking about. David Byron is the man this cannot be argued, and I was quite polite and friendly with my response in this forum, you on the other hand have no class.

  • I was quite friendly aswell and admitted to making a mistake... but, I really don't think you, at the age of 24, can know what myself, and others from that period, are talking about.. and THAT should be obvious... However, I regret being condesending... that was out of line, dude!! ;)

  • and btw. I you believe that "David Byron is the man".. then why not talk about him and his higher level of singing, instead of mentioning those that make me sick to my stomack, to begin with.. You came across as not understanding what I ment.. and trying to teach an old wolf how to howl.. sorry I've listened to the other UH singers with an open mind but they don't have it at all.. and UH turned in to an ordinary rock band.. lost its uniqueness

  • One last thing, english IS my second language.. Take care :)

  • no worries man! I just hate that sometimes youtube and other forums are basically places people bash eachother for no apparent reason. especially when we all pretty much agree Uriah Heep Kick ass!! I may be 24 but i have essentially everything Uriah heep ever did until 1983 and I like the new album, consider me a historian. Haha

  • i wouldn't say pop band but quite a bit different but very enjoyable!

  • what line-up was this?

  • MICK BOX - Guitars

JOHN SLOMAN - Lead & backing vocals, Piano, Percussion

CHRIS SLADE - Stccato drums, Percussion

    TREVOR BOLDER - Bass guitar

KEN HENSLEY - obx, Vocoder, Organ, Piano, Guitars, Backing vocals

  • Conquest isn't a bad record at all

i am a fan of Uh and i give respect

to all guys who passed from band

    And , i comment that Hensley shouldn't

    left them never..

  • Not my favorite period of the Heep Not bad, but, for me, David Byron was Uriah's soul

  • john sloman great vocal

  • Lawton best voice for uriah heep look him up in a band called Zar

  • Hensley voted for the Trapeze singer ...and the rest of the band choosed this one...

Even if Hensley reprezent 40 percent of the bands! hehe... that was not enough... after this live/video it was a matter of weeks for the departure of Hensley... i try to imagine Uriah Heep with the Trapeze singer at the vox...

I think that Hensley choice was the best ...but we'll never know

  • Goalby is better!

  • damn man!!!!!! is the best band ever!

  • one of the best voices ever!

  • Did anybody notice who"s playing drums-then watch Manfred Mann Earth Band(70"s)orAC/DC at Downington

  • pos chris slade.met chris at his 40 th party..was shaven headed..

  • Chris Slade. I have The Roaring Silence and the Razor's Edge with him on it. Used to have Silent Nation by Asia. Didn't like that one

  • He was perfect for these songs which UH played then including this song. Can't imagine Lawton or even Bernie Shaw covering this song.

He would be great in American rock band eg Warrant, Autograph, even Gun & Roses (they all sound like this)!

  • great song..butt for me is Bernie Shaw the voice of uriah heep.

  • EN LA GUITARRA ESTA KEN HENSLEY?????

  • en muchas canciones de Uriah Heep Ken toca la guitarra.

todas las guitarras con slide son de Ken Henslay

  • gracias por el dato

  • who is the singer??

  • John Sloman

  • Good Song.

  • I think that is much better than other after him, of course Byron the better.

Greetings from hell to UH fans from ME!

  • Sloman was never right for Heep but this takes me back - great memories - good song.

  • a great song!Uriah heep RuLzZZZZ!!!!
