@Lion777Heart Alexandre Dumas pere wrote over 400 historical novels exposing world tyranny(Roman Catholic Empire). Alexandre Dumas pere was born near Paris in 1802 and 'coincidentally' in 1902 The Society of Gesu(Jesuits) were expelled from France for the 3rd and last time. The Society of Jesu(Jesuits) have been expelled from 83 countries and their pope is ARAMIS AND HE IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE COUNT OF MONTE CHRISTO(GENERAL OF THE JESUITS).
Sloman sang and acted like a cheap Coverdale wannabe. this is known to have been the main reason for Hensley leaving the band.
I just can't recognise Uriah Heep in this band with this hair metal singer transforming Hensley´s lyrics into something silly. His singing on Out on the street for example is just pathetic. If you think Conquest is a great album and Sloman a great singer just listen or watch David Byron on July Morning or even Lawton on Sympathy.
the Heep died after Innocent Victim.Jonh Sloman was the chance but they were afraid of.they could not permit themselfs a figure eaqual to Lawton to destroy the Hensley's leadership.its was a fatal mistake and the band came to the end of creative power.all the Heep after is a commercial project.Nevertheless the 7 years of true Heep are the greate pages in the history of rock.
It's really funny to read the girls' comments on this they listen with their eyeballs thus the popularity of Poison, Motley Crue John Lawton is so much better than this it's ridiculous
@paistecat OK, as one of the girls listening to the Heep here, I would say LAWTON, LAWTON and again, LAWTON !!!! He was and STILL IS unique and gave the band their true sound and image. Happened to listen to him performing this summer - just two metres away from him. What an incredible singer! He sang for near 1.5 hours non-stop. Love him!
Bands need to evolve. By 1980 AOR was massive and the NWOBHM was on the rise. Clearly Heep's days of singing about wizards and rainbow demons were behind them.
Anyway what's wrong with enjoying a good tune. We don't have to listen to what the NME or Radio 1 tell us to like.
Hola a todos los fans de esta super banda de Uriah Heep,si te interesa conseguir toda la musica de su album Conqest-1980,te puedo hacer una copia por $20 dolares, eso incluye cd con su estuche y envio y manejo solo dentro de los ee.uu.
I grew up in the 70's and heard both versions of 'Feelings', both by Uriah Heep and Morris Albert, which by the way, were totally different tunes, not just the musical genre, but also the song itself, with totally different lyrics. Uriah Heep's version was much better, while Morris Albert's version practically put me to sleep.
i agree, is other band, not heep, mick box keep doing music under uriah heep name but he had to chenge for other, uriah heep is david byron, hensley, newton, box and kerslake
To even use the name Uriah Heep after David Byron died, is so utterly wrong. When he died Uriah Heep turned into a popband... just listen to the singer! lmfao!!!.. sounds like a cheap sugarpop-seudo-heavy band. Uriah Heep lost the magic when David Byron died..
I don't agree with you, at all. John Lawton's era was excellent as well, he gave renewal to the band and the albums with him on vocals are gems, specially Firefly. About this vide, I just gotta say that I like it a lot, even though it is a playback, but as there's so little amount of material from this period, the few things are highly appreciated. Sloman has a great voice, I wish he lasted longer on the band.
first of all David Byron died in 1985 long after he was asked to leave the band, the band had a singer JOHN LAWTON replace David. John Sloaman who is the singer in this video is a talent to be reconned with. See LoneStar : ) Just to clarify, the band had been going for about ten years before Byron passed away. Best regards!
I know when David died. I know what happened regarding Uriah Heep. I don't really get your "argument".. What I ment to say was, that imo, the band UH ended when Byron was no longer the singer.. I don't care how many lollypop-boyband singers, became part of UH afterwards.. The vibe, the sound, the otherworldly atmosfere, ended with David. He was unique.. You weren't around when the first album came out, you didn't go to the concerts. You haven't got a clue what I'm talking about, honestly..
dude , you obviously dont know what you are talking about. David Byron is the man this cannot be argued, and I was quite polite and friendly with my response in this forum, you on the other hand have no class.
I was quite friendly aswell and admitted to making a mistake... but, I really don't think you, at the age of 24, can know what myself, and others from that period, are talking about.. and THAT should be obvious... However, I regret being condesending... that was out of line, dude!! ;)
and btw. I you believe that "David Byron is the man".. then why not talk about him and his higher level of singing, instead of mentioning those that make me sick to my stomack, to begin with.. You came across as not understanding what I ment.. and trying to teach an old wolf how to howl.. sorry I've listened to the other UH singers with an open mind but they don't have it at all.. and UH turned in to an ordinary rock band.. lost its uniqueness
no worries man! I just hate that sometimes youtube and other forums are basically places people bash eachother for no apparent reason. especially when we all pretty much agree Uriah Heep Kick ass!! I may be 24 but i have essentially everything Uriah heep ever did until 1983 and I like the new album, consider me a historian. Haha

Some idiots love to compare musicians saying one or another is bad, but they have never sang or played anything good.
I hate when some people act in a disrespectful manner saying that other Heep's singers are better than Sloman, and he is not good at all...
Wake up, this guy is unique. If he isn't good, who else is?
