Guitar hero 3 definitely beat Rock Band in the Guitar Department, but rock band closed the gap with drums and vox, so it tied it up for me, i had both when they came out, i also got both WT and RB2, and i got Guitar hero 5, both games are good, i don't know why people think they have to be zealots for one or the other. You CAN like both, and you can like Megadeth and Metallica, sorry, that was on my mind too...

I used to love playing guitar in GH3 for the PS2, and when I got my Xbox, I wanted to get World Tour. After some problems however, I decided to settle for Rock Band, because I desperately wanted to go on drums.

Since then, I have bought Rock Band 1 and 2 and 77 DLC songs to go with it. I cannot get enough of the drums!

Whilst I agree that GH5 has an amazingly vibrant and clear display (superior to that of RB2), the main thing that's kept me on RB is the DLC. I could play new DLC forever.

I started off as a loyal Guitar Hero fan after my two older brothers showed it to me back when it first came out. Ever since we have all been great fans of the game. However, we have all noticed a downfall in the quality of the game. Since Harmonix left GH it just got so much worse, rockband is now what guitar hero used to be.. But better. Rockband 2 is absolutely amazing and although I want to be a loyal GH fan, RB has taken it place in tracklisting amazingness to overall band quality. =]

The problem with Rockband is that it doesn't push the player as hard to show who has talent at the game. Guitar hero also can be more realistic playing the song because they can have a wider range of button combinations. I counted sixteen different combinations of buttons for Rockband (I could be wrong). currently guitar hero has hit just about every combination there is. If anybody objects I must hear a good reason

I would say Rock Band is a more good example on what the Music Game genre stands for, and that's timing. I won't say the GH3 timing window is bad, but you can strum almost the next coming note half a second earlier than you should and still hit it. :P
